In the latest episode of the Empowerography Podcast, my guest is Nishah Dennison. Nishah was born in Adelaide, Australia, and moved to Cambridge UK, at the age of five. Her parents were entrepreneurs, which was unusual back then. They had a thriving business and strong work ethic. Nishah was a child of mixed marriage (mother Thai, father English) at a time where being different was unusual and the term ‘half-cast’ was used. She was raised Buddhist, her parents had met each other at the Cambridge Buddhist Society, a group her father set up. “On Christmas day we would meditate, and most days began with morning chanting as a routine. As a family we did things like set fish free in a local river to accrue collective good karma. Around 1997 we adopted a Vietnamese family during the Vietnamese Boat People crisis, enabling them to eventually set up their own business. This spiritual upbringing impacted me and I am grateful for this influence. However, I found my own spiritual path, becoming a meditation teacher (kundalini) and energy healer as an adult”.
