Creating and navigating your End of Life story

from Wellness Radio with Dr. J · host Dr. Jeanette Gallagher ND

Dr. Jeanette welcomes Kim Best, author of How to Live Forever: A Guide to Writing the Final Chapter of Your Life Story to explore our final life chapter with all the challenges and hurdles put in front of us.What happens when the best laid plans go out the door and you are left feeling vulnerable to the healthcare, financial or social systems put in place as rescue services? What happens when you have made no plans and things alter your life and the quality of your remaining time is at risk? Who do you turn to, what do you ask for, and when is the right time to create a plan that may help others know what your End of Life wishes are?As we have seen over the last few years, death does not have a plan or a prescribed time frame in which to show up; it just does! We cannot control when or how we die, we cannot demand life saving services to keep us on this planet, and we cannot tell our body that is must perform with all the treatments and technology available. Death is a natural process, the cycle of life. Can we accept that aspect of life or do we continue to deny its existence? How do we deal with our natural aging? Are we angry at death, disease, frailty, loss, and the system of life that sometimes seems to fail? What are we seeking to write our last chapter of life? How would we like to take our last dance? Who will be there to guide us when we cannot see, hear, or talk?Angels and guides are all around us, just as planners, social workers, Drs., family, loved ones and even those we don't know who seem to show up from no where and catch us when we fall. Be open to the words we speak on this show, some may challenge your beliefs and your truths, and others may drive you make changes in your life plan today. Be kind to yourself and find the words as thoughts to comfort you in your transition from this life to the next. For more information on Kim Best and her work visit: www.HowToLiveForeverBook.com For guided support at End of Life and the challenges in our final quarter of life, Dr. Jeanette offers services on her website, also a free book and newsletter can be found there: www.DrJeanetteGallagher also www.MyPersonalAdvocate2.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/wellness-radio-with-dr-j--4618136/support.
