Creating certainty during a very uncertain time and why we must understand our own trauma response with Kristen Lake

from Can't Call Your Mom with Nicole Weston · host Nicole Weston | Motherless mothers navigating life after motherloss

*Disclaimer* Hi mama’s, I just want to let you know that we are talking about the body’s response to trauma, managing emotions and the importance of creating new coping strategies. If you need support and are having a difficult time coping during social distancing please reach out for help. If you are in a crisis you can call 1-866-797-0000 Kristen Lake and I decided to sit down and talk about how we as mothers are physically experiencing this global pandemic. We took a deep dive into understanding trauma and the physical response we can experience.  We also agreed on how important it is for us as mothers to be practicing healthy emotional management so we can keep the energy in motion.  Kristen explained the ‘fight, flight” response we are in as a society and why this is a natural coping mechanism. So important for us to be aware of our emotions so we can create space and awareness and allow ourselves to move through.  We don’t have answers and we definitely don’t know when this will all transition but we do know that right now more than ever we are in need of joy, presence and grace. I believe that understanding how trauma impacts us on a physiologically level is key in helping us cope through this. As mothers we get permission to let go of the pressure to do it all and focus on creating a sense of safety and security within ourselves and our families. Breathwork online session: April 9th @7:00pm -9:00pm Tickets are $35 https://nicoleweston.ca/product/breathwork/
