Creation to Curses

The Bible tells one unified story of redemption from Genesis to Revelation. Beginning with perfect fellowship in the Garden of Eden and ending with restored fellowship in the heavenly city, every story in between demonstrates God's relentless pursuit to bring His people back to Himself. The Old Testament follows distinct time periods from innocence through the patriarchs to the law and prophets. When Adam and Eve fell to the same three temptations we face today - lust of the flesh, eyes, and pride of life - God immediately promised redemption through the coming Messiah. Understanding this overarching narrative helps us see how our own lives fit into God's ongoing story of restoration and grace. 00:00 Welcome to The Cultivated Life Podcast 00:55 Introduction to the Bible 04:29 Understanding the Old Testament 07:57 The Structure of the Bible 16:40 The Importance of a Good Study Bible 18:56 The Creation Story: Day by Day 23:55 Debate on the Length of Creation Days 25:23 The Creation of Man and Animals 26:39 The Garden of Eden and Its Significance 27:53 The Four Streams of Income Theory 28:59 The Creation of Woman 32:11 The Fall of Man 37:21 The Consequences of Sin 43:56 The Promise of Redemption 44:26 Conclusion and Next Steps
