Creature Comforts | Gopher Frogs

On today’s show we welcome John Tupy from the US Fish and Wildlife Service to help us dive into the world of gopher frogs, a unique and fascinating species found right here in Mississippi. These small amphibians, known for their distinctive call that sounds like a deep snore, are native to the longleaf pine forests and flatwoods of the southern United States. So today we will talk about these frogs and others found around Mississippi. As always, Dr. Troy Majure, DVM, with the Animal Medical Center and Libby Hartfield, Retired Director of the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science, is here if you have any concerns about your furry friends or general wildlife experiences.
