Starting July 1, 2017, Equifax, TransUnion, and Experian will remove many tax liens and judgments from credit reports due to new standards established by the National Consumer Assistance Plan. These changes could boost credit scores for individuals with such items on their reports, though other negative items may still affect scores and unpaid records could affect mortgage applications.
