Cremated Remains Found After House Fire | Spokane News

In a heart-wrenching yet triumphant recovery, forensic archaeologists and specially trained K-9 units found cremated remains of Caitlynn Burt’s late mother—lost in a devastating Spokane house fire a decade ago. After initial missteps, the dogs zeroed in on the brick fireplace, guiding experts to carefully excavate and identify the unique texture and color of human ashes. This poignant discovery offers deep comfort to Caitlynn, whose family has endured immense loss, including her mother’s battle with addiction. The Alta Heritage Foundation’s German shepherds, Quinn and Cagney, played a pivotal role using scent detection to distinguish human remains from debris. Though not all remains were recovered, this breakthrough honors a cherished memory amid profound grief. Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
