Cries from the Cross with Dr. Erwin Lutzer & Hope in Iran with Dr. Hormoz Shariat

from Karl and Crew · host Moody Radio

Today, on Karl and Crew, we kicked off our weekly theme, “Holy Week,” with Dr. Erwin Lutzer and Dr. Hormoz Shariat. Dr. Erwin Lutzer joined us to discuss the seven cries from the cross and what they reveal about Jesus’ mercy, suffering, humanity, and obedience. He also talked about how Christ understands human weakness and how He alone can satisfy our deepest spiritual thirst. Dr. Lutzer is Pastor Emeritus of The Moody Church, where he served as Senior Pastor for 36 years. He is also the featured speaker on “Running to Win” and “Songs in the Night” and is the author of “Cries from the Cross.” Dr. Hormoz Shariat also joined us to discuss what is happening in Iran politically and spiritually, and how many Iranians are turning to Christ in the midst of suffering and persecution. Dr. Shariat is the founder and president of Iran Alive Ministries, which seeks to reach Iranians with the gospel. An Iranian Muslim convert, he has ministered among Muslim-born Iranians for more than 40 years and holds a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Southern California and a B.A. in Bible and Theology from Jessup University.
