Cris Wood

from Sew-organised-style · host Maria Theoharous

Cris Wood was kind enough to give us her time to talk about what is involved in getting models who look like they are over 50 years old for a small patternline. In the research conducted by SewOver50, statistics in 2022 showed there are few companies that represent sewists over 50 on their pattern company grids and on their pattern covers. Cris has been in contact with Sandy of SewOver50 to source local models that could be 'over 50' models for Cris Wood Sews patterns. Cris originally worked in a number of sewing jobs and in 2020 she was forced to stop working and had to come up with another way of earning an income. SewOver50 intersects with all communities. SewOver50 where we are so over ageism. Our focus is the sewing talent each person shares on social media and providing recognition of their willingness to share their skills whether a beginner or experienced sewist.
