Zero and The Wiz RECOMMEND Picnic at Hanging Rock Picnic at Hanging Rock, Peter Weir's film based on the novel by Joan Lindsay, is definitely a movie that is for a specific type of person in a specific type of mood. It's a quite, beautiful but at times discomforting film about tragedy and how the people in a protected bubble react when tragedy strikes. It has exceptional cinematography and the direction by Weir sets up the ethereal vibe of the film that leads to it's eerie and discomforting tone. It's a film that both Wiz and Zero can see it's quality in. But Zero is perfectly fine with his singular viewing, while Wiz is not sure exactly how much he likes the film which will require multiple viewings to really grasp. Still, Picnic at Hanging Rock is a good film that, if you are a fan of someone like Sofia Coppola, should actually give this film a strong shot.
