Critics Of The ‘Anti-Weaponization’ Fund & Downtown Entertainment Zone Ordinance Advances

The nearly $1.8 billion “anti-weaponization fund” was created as part of a legal settlement after Donald Trump dropped a lawsuit against the IRS, allowing people who claim they were unfairly targeted by the government to seek compensation or apologies. The move has sparked controversy, with critics warning the fund could benefit Trump allies and raise ethical concerns about using taxpayer money for politically charged claims.  The Fresno City Council has advanced a proposed ordinance to create three downtown “entertainment zones,” allowing people to carry and drink alcohol outside during permitted events as part of an effort to boost local business and activity.
