Crosley Green

from We the Jury · host Wrongful Convictions News™

Crosley Green, a 62-year-old man who has been fighting for his freedom for decades, is now facing a new hurdle—a coronavirus outbreak at his prison. Crosley Green's murder conviction was overturned in 2018, and his attorneys have filed an emergency motion for his release. Crosley Green was supposed to be released 2 years ago but he was kept in prison because a Florida attorney general appealed that decision. And now his attorneys fear for his health. Crosley’s case is unlike other cases because he has had a Federal court rule that he was wrongly convicted. So based on what the court has ruled, Crosley shouldn’t be in prison at all. As of today, his attorney are unaware of his condition other than there has been an inmate that has tested positive for the coronavirus in his cellblock. They have no way to communicate with him at this time. In Crosley’s filings, his attorneys wrote, “If Mr. Green dies of Covid-19, it will be a miscarriage of justice of unconscionable proportions.” This statement was released on August 10, 2020. As of that date, the number of inmates that tested positive was 144, it had more than doubled in TWO DAYS. Our prayers are with you, Crosley. All of us at We the Jury™ and Wrongful Convictions News™ are praying for your safety and release. We apologize that our government has done this to you and we hope you will somehow forgive us all.
