Crypto

from Something Interesting

What I find interesting in crypto isn't really crypto itself. I've never bought or sold any and don't think it's accomplished much as a technology. It does however embody and evangelize a worldview about relationships and values that I find fascinating and troubling. Crypto — and more generally the world of digital high tech — is strongly motivated by the idea that we can optimize and perfect things with technology. This both idealizes code and algorithms and discounts the complexity of human life. Crypto folks are entirely right to be suspicious and cynical of governments and institutions. But the alternative they offer actually seems worse in almost every way, because it's credulous about technology and seemingly ignorant of politics, history, and sociology. Openly Terrified Evan Van Helden Hey hey, and welcome to Openly Terrified! I’m Evan—socially awkward, emotionally chaotic, and somehow still choosing to talk into a mic. This little podcast is basically a live-stream of my brain, where all my weird thoughts come to hang out and stretch their legs. Despite being a professional introvert, something about rambling here makes my soul do a happy little dance. So if you’re into overthinking, oversharing, or just vibing in a judgment-free zone—stick around. I saved you a metaphorical beanbag chair. Explicit Straight Gay Reviews Rumeal Welcome to SGR - Straight Gay Reviews! Yes, I'm Gay, hence the name. I'm Rumeal; it's like Ru Paul & a Meal you'd eat! Feel free to share this with anyone; SGR started as a movie review channel, which I did with a friend. However, it has morphed into something I love doing: learning from others and networking. There are many different segments; I hope you have time to listen to them when you can, and they provide value in your world. Oh, if you want the visuals check us out on YouTube. Explicit 20 Something W/ Aidan Steinbach aidan.steinbach My name is Aidan Steinbach and I am a 20 something year-old kid. I just moved to a new city, to start a new job, with new people… And I have no idea what I’m doing. There’s a huge pressure to know exactly what you’re doing and the exact trajectory that your life is on… But it’s completely unrealistic. And with social media, it can be so easy to feel behind people, because everyone else’s life looks so perfect. So I wanted to offer a genuinely transparent look into what a 20 something-year-old’s life in a new city looks like. Explicit
