Cryptocurrency

As Bitcoin soars in price, investors around the world are looking to snatch up some cryptocurrency in the hope of increasing their wealth, and being part of one of the most exciting financial trends of this generation. But it’s harder for New Zealanders to get into the game. In this episode, Superfad hosts Katie Kenny and Laura Walters talk to cryptocurrency enthusiast Derek Rose about his whirlwind investment journey, which left him staring at a computer screen, dumbfounded. Katie and Laura also talk to local tech expert Richard MacManus about how New Zealand is reacting to the phenomenon, and Blockchain Association boss Sean Au talks about the technology behind the currency. Superfad is a Stuff podcast, which explores the weird and wonderful world of trends. Each week, the hosts unpick a different trend, looking at where it came from, as well as its social and cultural impacts. The hosts also try out the trend, so you don’t have to.
