Crystal Bollix/ Alex- Thriving in the Drag scene - OTM002

Welcome to the On the Mezzanine Podcast with Milly Murray! I will be exploring the lives of creatives across London from industries such as music, DJing, food and drink, drag, performing arts and much more all filmed live in the Mezzanine bar in Tooting Market. In the second episode I interview Crystal Bollix, a non-binary drag artist and award- winning drag theatre maker, as well as a great friend of mine and the first drag performer I saw! We’ll be getting into the evolution of curating a drag persona, the drag scenes in London and Ireland, the state of theatre and Shakespeare, as well as Twilight, cartoon crushes, Vinted and living with Colin Firth. Please join us on this chaotic journey, filmed with cocktails just before Crystal made their debut in Tooting at my Furzenights event. TW- mentions of rape/ sexual assault Your host- hey I’m Milly, I started this podcast because I love dance music, performing arts, food and know so many people doing amazing things who deserve to share their stories! I run dance music party collective Furzenights and totally believe that the future of nightlife and culture relies on grassroots creatives. This podcast is sponsored by the Mezzanine bar in Tooting Market. The Mezzanine is an independent venue pioneering dance music in Tooting. Every weekend they host a variety of unique music events showcasing local talent, as well as cabaret, open deck vinyl nights and private events. I would always recommend the Mezzanine’s unique tequila bar with a range of southern Californian and Mexican inspired premium cocktails. Got an interesting story to tell?
