WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Rep. Henry Cuellar hosted a webinar with reporters on June 6. Cuellar calls the webinar series, “Conversations with Cuellar.”Topics discussed included recent appropriations wins, including language to expedite expansion of the World Trade Bridge in Laredo. He said he was also successful with these initiatives:securing $32 million to support additional training between the U.S. and Mexican militariesadding language to the appropriations bill to establish a new program to assist Mexico in combating drug cartelsadding language to the appropriations bill to strengthen migrant video monitoring requirementsAdding language to the appropriations bill to consolidate migrant medical care.During the webinar, Cuellar said he had recently visited the White House to discuss U.S. policy in Mexico and Central America.Asked about this visit, Cuellar said he urged more U.S. investment in Central America. He said he also promoted his idea of improving security in the interior of Mexico, not just at the U.S.-Mexico border.
