We have perhaps all been in a situation where we have lived in a different country, where our mother tongue is not spoken, and struggled to acclimatise. - In her return to the podcast Eleanor from @english.with.eleanor talks about the topics of culture shock and homesickness, two very relevant topics when we're living in a country of our target language. - Eleanor talks to us about, how when we live in the country of our target language, we might encounter culture shock and homesickness. - But what are these two words? Culture shock describes the effect of living in a country which has a different culture to home country, for example the way people interact with each other. Homesickness is what happens to us when we feel we would like to go home because you miss your home. - Why are these two words important when learning a language? Well, they are very important we will, at one point or another encounter these two words. - What can we do?
