Culture Wants A Rewrite, Jesus Says No

Truth is getting rewritten in real time, and it’s leaving a lot of us tired, confused, and stuck in endless “what I feel” debates. Today we plant our feet in Matthew 5:17–18 where Jesus makes a bold claim about who He is and what Scripture is: He fulfills the Law and the Prophets, and not even the smallest mark of God’s Word will fail until all is accomplished.We walk through the flow of the Sermon on the Mount, from the Beatitudes to Jesus setting His authority, and we slow down on the details that are easy to skip. When Jesus talks about an iota and a tiny stroke of the pen, He’s not being poetic. He’s tying His identity as the promised Messiah to the unchanging authority of the Bible. That means Christian discipleship can’t be built on whatever the culture approves this month, or whatever our personal opinion finds most comfortable.Then we get practical and a little confrontational in the best way. If truth is “relative,” it stops being truth and becomes preference, and preference has no power to save, heal, or hold a life together.
