Curating Career Life Stories: How Did I Get Here? Ep. 29 with Brenda Kaser-Burger
from Curating Career Life Stories: How did I get here? · host Kathy Lawless
Join me for the career story reflections of Brenda Kaser-Burger, Board of Director Certified and CEO of Conscious Investing Group, LLC. While as a young person she wants to be a wild animal trainer, her journey traverses technology and leadership. She does ultimately enjoy a stint running a non-profit featuring wild animals! An internship at IBM and then an opportunity her senior year of college to work on a NASA grant, help her stand out as a young recruit. She chooses IBM and is quickly tapped for a team lead role because she could communicate and knew technology. It also helps that she is a woman adding to their leadership diversity. A great fit as she was drawn more toward leadership vs the technology track. She saw a bigger purpose for her role -- making IBM better and the lives of clients and employees better! Ready for something different, she transitions her leadership value to a non-profit, which leads her to consulting other businesses. She’s now certified and looking to contribute her breadth and depth to a board of directors.
