Curating Career Life Stories: How Did I Get Here? Ep. 46 with Suzanne Mitchell
from Curating Career Life Stories: How did I get here? · host Kathy Lawless
Join me for the career story reflections of Suzanne Mitchell, President of Zamar Screen Printing, Inc. Her dream is to be a stay at home mom, but that all changes when she and her husband decide to start their own printing company after the one, he was working for, burns to the ground and the owner decides not to rebuild. Tapping into her natural gatherer of people and leadership gifts she discovers an entrepreneurial spirit that fuels her and provides a flexible schedule to home school her two boys. She finds her way by doing, trying new things, leveraging resources and adjusting as she goes. While college was not for her, she’s huge on education – business coaches, seminars, finding resources when needed, and asking people she admires for help. Suzanne’s words of wisdom: “Ask for help when you’re struggling with something. It’s not a sign of weakness or failure, it’s learning. People want to help, so if you admire someone for any reason, ask them for their thoughts.”
