India & China released an ‘eight point consensus’ on Wednesday (26 August), a day after India’s NSA Ajit Doval met Chinese FM Wang Yi in Beijing. Both countries agreed to “advance discussions on an early and substantial harvest of boundary limitation”. India & China also agreed to hold the next meeting of Expert-Level Mechanism on Trans-border Rivers in September and maintain communication on issues including hydrological data sharing, and renewal of the relevant MoUs.
