Join Emily as she is joined by psychiatrist, Dr. Michael Gentile, to discuss his work in the mental health field, his use as food as medicine for mental health, and cutting edge treatments for mental health that he foresees becoming widely used in our healthcare system in the years to come. Dr. Gentile implements a whole body approach to mental health - considering all factors of his patients in determining their care. Dr. Gentile's blends holistic wellness with psychiatric care to support his patients and their journeys. Dr. Michael Gentile graduated from Georgetown University undergraduate and SUNY Downstate Medical School. He trained in hospitals in surgery, medicine and neurology for a short time before completing his full psychiatric training at Albert Einstein College of Medicine where I received extra training, a fellowship, in psychopharmacology and child adolescent psychiatry. In his practice, he has worked in all areas of mental health with an emphasis on the psycho-medical-legal "forensic" field having worked for child protective services of New Jersey for 13 years where I observed an unmet need for the treatment of trauma-PTSD which led me to the promise of medical marijuana, ketamine and psychedelics as potential treatment.
