The CEP involves three assessments: (a) the ASVAB, an aptitude test that estimates your capacity for academic and vocational endeavors; (b) the Find Your Interests (FYI) inventory, which identifies job activities you would like to perform; and (c) the Work Values Situational Judgment Activity (WV SJA), which identifies what you most value in, and desire to receive from, the work you do.Following ASVAB administration (about 90 minutes), students will participate in a Post-Test Interpretation (PTI) session where they (a) learn what their ASVAB scores mean, (b) complete the FYI and WV SJA, and (c) begin to explore occupations (we link to more than 1,000 civilian and military careers through the Department of Labor's Occupational Information Network [O*NET]). Homeschool parents are encouraged to attend the PTI session.ASVAB CEP is open to students in 10th grade and above (college students included). There is no obligation to military service or to speak to a recruiter. Indeed, students need not have any interest in the military whatsoever to participate in and benefit from ASVAB CEP.Students need to be registered for testing, and they need to bring a laptop or Chromebook, and paper and pencil.Your contact info will be given to the test providers.__________Chattin' with CHAP is a series of informational podcasts designed to equip and encourage families on their homeschooling journeys.
