Hello everybody and welcome in to today's episode of the Top Cut UGO podcast. You are listening on Friday, October 1st. Welcome to season 3. Woo!
Oh man, feels good, doesn't it? Yeah, boy. I'm excited. I'm excited.
We are like trucking along fast through the seasons. Well, I say we're trucking along fast. I mean, we're going through the formats. This is episode at probably 46, 47, something like that.
I haven't really been keeping too much track. Yeah, we've been like just flying. That's not even kind of like the Patreon episodes and stuff. So which at this point there's like five.
Oh yeah, five of them. So crazy thing we've already been doing Patreon over a month. I know, right? I feel like that long.
Right. So we do want to start off with the Patreon and we want to start off by thanking all of our patrons. And I think I'm going to do start doing it in going by the tears. So we're going to extend a huge thank you to a Samika Austin Johnson, myth, Oceanis, pig, scuzz, daddy, Aaron Gardner, ideal, Said Anthony Leela, mountain man, Oh, an Alvarado Jeremy, driesdale and Ray Powell.
Thank you all so much for your support. It means a lot to us. Obviously it allows us to do things like the cool sound foam that you might notice an audio quality increase because of some people in our server were chatting while we put it up. So if you want to be on cool stuff like that, be sure to check out the Discord server.
It is the best way to talk to us hang out with us and things like that. We are going to ask while we're here because this is where I would read a podcast review if we had any reviews. Please go to please go to iTunes and review us. Yeah, it really it really does help out.
It does a lot more than people realize ratings, reviews, just just all of it really really helps the podcast. Oh, yeah. So you want to go and get right in the news or do you got anything else you want to talk about real quick? We know a little bit of quick play news with the structure.
Okay. So we are getting these we are in fact getting the cyber structure. Yes. We have the full set list now.
It's pretty much the exact OCD list except we're not getting lightning storm. Instead we're getting a cybernetic overflow. It's kind of crazy honestly to think that the OCD list actually didn't even have that in it. Yeah, I know right.
But they got lightning storm. But we are getting the the imperms. The infinitum permanence is that that's that's what worth the 10. They're not 10.
That's what worth the structure deck in my opinion. Yeah, I guess it is worth like the price of the price of the product, you know, but oh yeah, it's crazy because now that there's no lightning storm reprint that like think about it in like a year's time or two years time. Those imperms are going to be like 20 bucks. Oh, absolutely.
Up 50 probably 10 15 at minimum. Oh easily. That's not even including all of the other things in the structure deck. Oh, yeah.
Like it's got everything you could possibly need for a cyber for a most things you need for a cyber dragon deck. It doesn't have galaxy soldier. Yeah, but it's got everything else you could possibly possibly need just about. I will say I mentioned that on Twitter and some people make some very good points.
Shout out Aurora, you go and I think dual daddy was the other one. It if you look at the way they built the structure deck, the structure deck was built for more of a like fusion centric like theme and feel. And if you include galaxy soldiers, then you have to include novas and at that point, you may as well throw in an infinity at that point. It's not even really like fair enough saying it's just from being a side.
It's away from it. Yeah, it's just from being that combination of the cyber dragons and the cyber darks fusing and right turns more into spam infinity. Yeah, it turns into more of like a like I don't know, not what they're going for. You know, so less Zane, true, Zell, more Joe, schmo.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I really do think they could have used a galaxy soldier rebrand the card doesn't need a rebrand. It's expensive. But on the flip side, I've got a couple of places that are really going to appreciate value.
So, you know, I'm not even that upset fair, but in all actuality, in all honesty, I do think that they probably should have included it anyway. I understand, but like the cards effectively and honor every cyber dragon, you know. Oh, yeah, pretty much. But I mean, at the same time, even because like even just special something by itself puts like cyber dragon, nastor or one of your other cyber dragons in grave.
Yeah, yeah, it does a whole lot more than just be a cyber dragon. Yeah, and I'll it can do more for the deck than just, hey, I'm going to pump out a Nova and infinity. Right. It did have a cyber dragon hers reprint.
A lot of people were worried about whether or not that guard was going to get in. It did. Yes, it was needlessly expensive. Oh, yeah, those cards, those the hers is where I want to say like 15 bucks, 18 bucks.
I'll put it to you this way. I traded a set of hers like two weeks ago for a set of golden nibs. Ooh, yeah, which I'm like, I'm fine with that. Yeah, no, no, that needed the reprint hard.
Yeah. I think a lot of the times anything of a deck that's not really I'm not going to say it's not competitive. It just taught that a YCS like it's still a good deck. But like we both know that it's not on the level of decks like Trivergate.
Right. Right. It's not it's not like a tier one deck. So anytime you have like a tier one deck like that, it needs like it frustrates me when you have a deck like that.
That's just needlessly expensive, you know, like a heroes right now, you know, two car, two cards in the entire hero deck is like four, five hundred dollars easy. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, just that's the only reason I haven't built heroes.
I think it's a cool and fun deck, but like, I mean, all the car just look cool. Yeah. And I like the way the deck functions now is more like a combo. Yeah.
But it's just golds are $200 and delicious domains are about the same. Yeah. And even like liquid soldiers or 60 Pharisees or 40 is just everything's just insane. They just need to reprint everything as a common hero structure deck.
Hero structure deck. Let's go. They already did that. Do another one.
I mean, if they do another one where they do all the good reprints, I guess they'd be cool. Like Ferris, liquid soldiers, solid soldier, soldiers are cheap. Fair enough. Like a dollar.
Yeah. But I do see where you're coming from with that. It's definitely a fan favorite archetype. I mean, I think even dark laws are a few dollars.
So, but let's go ahead and move on out of the very not so quick play news. Yeah. Going forward, we did get some big news today. Well, at the time of posting it's yesterday, we did get some news as far as the master tool.
Yes. Lots of stuff. We actually have a release window, but not a date. Right.
And so for those listening, I do just want to throw this out there. They you can follow us on Twitter. You would have gotten like live quicker reactions to the master dual news, but you can follow us on Twitter at top. Podcasts.
So I just wanted to interject that there before we get too much further. Oh, absolutely. It's good information out. So like so, we have our lease window, but not a date just just a winter of 2012, 2021, right, which is December, January or February or even as late as March.
Yeah, March at the absolute latest. So you know, it's like winter of 2021. That's into that's the fine. That's the financial year.
Yeah. It's the, um, it's the financial quarter is the 2021 winter financial quarter, which like, which is December to March. Um, yeah. So technically this could come out as late as March.
Yeah. But we're, but if it is March to be like early, super, super early March, I'm thinking it'll probably at least like maybe January or like super early January between first couple of days. Personally, I think they're going to time the release of the game in conjunction with the release of the new ban list on January 17th. That would make a lot of sense.
Yeah. Yeah. It'll either be like first couple of days of year or it'll be in line with the new, with the, with that, with that, with that coming ban list. Yeah.
That's, that's my personal prediction. That makes, that makes a lot of sense. Um, we're also getting a story or a lore mode quote unquote. Right.
So they showed this in the, uh, in the video, in the presentation, they showed a solo player mode. Yes. Um, so basically you get a deck that's themed to a specific storyline and you're basically going through and they're going through that storyline. Right.
The three that they showed us was world legacy, right, um, Jim Knights and cool in a, in a, in a, a, a cleophort, cleophort, which is, you know, which is a, though shows my world legacy, uh, the Jimstone warriors from dual terminal two and the giant cleophort from dual terminal three. Um, and all of them have a, I actually start with the tutorial on how to do the summoning mechanics. So fusions, synchros and pendulums? No.
Fusion, link and pendulum. Yeah, but the, um, the world chalice is also a heavily synchro based strategy. Yeah. Well, I guess I could do both.
Yeah. But like whenever they actually went through, like they actually have one that one of the people in there actually played through it a little bit. Oh, puppy, puppy in my lap. That's okay.
Puppies and labs are good thing. Yes. But anyway, um, anyway, but yeah, they also had a, like they had a guy going through it and when he went through it, it was almost exclusively a link deck. Um, the tutorial had him just like normal summon one of the vanilla is link them off into the link one mall do I think.
I think it's a m duck. Yeah, and then it's affecting to normal, some of another one and then link to into whatever the upgraded version of what's of check this out dude is. Yeah. Yeah.
Link to version of them. And then that's when the, in the tutorial was like victory. Yeah, I think that that's a, yeah. Yeah.
It's a tutorial. I mean, but I do think though that the story mode is an incredibly welcome addition to a game like this, you know, I don't think that it needs to be the end all be all of the game. In fact, that would be a horrible disservice, but having it as an option in the game. So think about, think about like taking your switch on a long car ride and it being, you know, it being where you don't have service or anything.
You need something to play. So it's perfect for something like that. Oh, yeah. Yeah.
And then like something else I really liked was that whenever it was actually doing the telling the story, it would show a car like the artwork from one of the cards that the, that the actual story, Bell is talking about and it's blown up and it's beautiful and kind of 3D. Right. It's moving animation put into it. Oh, yeah.
It's real nice. And that being said, whenever he did, whenever he did complete one of the story missions, he also got XP, your player character can level apparently. And not only that, but he got 50 gems. Oh, no, let's talk about this.
Yeah. So whenever he got the gems, it immediately popped up the fact that he got them. Right. And it said, Jim, a valuable jewel that emits a mysterious shine.
It is used in the shop to buy card packs and accessories. No, we have to buy card packs. I'm hoping it's a lot like, what's that game that was on the Switch and Steam, dual. Um, you know, the not dual links.
It's, it's the one before dual links. Yeah, that one. Um, like I'm hoping it's kind of like that where you just sit there and play the game a whole bunch to earn everything and you can just earn everything. There's no playing the game.
You don't have to pay for anything. Yeah, but like the one, like the issue is what's the value of one of these gems, right? Is it like two is like a hundred to get a pack? Is it 200?
Is it 4,950? Yeah, that would be a nightmare. Yeah. Now, if it's not like a couple hundred to get a pack, I'm like, that's fine.
Realistically to actually get enough packs to build a deck and to make going through the storyline worth it, it would have to be like 10 gems per pack. Mm. I mean, like five packs for completing a story. I mean, it would also, it would also, it was, it was, he got 50 gems per scenario.
Some scenarios are just, hey, here's a bunch of, here's a bunch of info dump. I mean, I'm fine with that. Give me 50 gems for that. Yeah.
Um, well, like I said, at that point, it also depend on how the packs are set up. Right. Are they attribute related? Are they, you know, is it type related?
But then how do they worry it? You know, then how do they deal with spells and traps of a particular archetype? Right. Right.
You know, how do, then how do they deal with art, you know, then if it is type related, how do it, our checks are mobile types. Oh, it's going to be, it's going to be a problem. They're really going to have to make sure that this is well done. Well thought.
Now, something that most people did not notice is if you look very closely at one of the screenshots from this, you can notice there are six different little like shards up and across the top of the screen. Um, there's like a purplish one, a yellowish one, there's a brownish one, blue, green, red, and that's, you know, the, the attributes. Right. So there's some discussion going around that you could possibly be able to maybe craft a card, right?
Do some crafting. That would be very cool. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
Let me be able to break down a card here from packs to get, uh, let's call match me points. Or shards. Yeah. Attribute shards, whatever you can sit there in a symbol of the cards you want.
Right. Right. Right. Say 50 dark, I should be charged.
We get you an access code. Yeah, something like that. And like every dark, every dark monster you break down gets you one charge or something. Yeah.
Well, I think we'll also depend on the month on the card itself. Like something like, I don't know, Snyponder gets you one, but then something like access code to get you like 30. I mean, something like that. That would be the best way to do it.
But like, it's going to only going to do it the best and fairest way. Probably not possibly, possibly not. They're really hitting this sometimes. Yeah, you really have to be a, you got to wonder what they're doing sometimes.
Yeah. Now, one thing I noticed was, um, I was someone else play the same guy also played part of the gym night storyline. Right. And he makes a lady diamond, you know, the second boss monster for gym nights, right, did not have a special song animation to the normal fusion animation.
And then the opponent who in the, uh, a, I upon who's also running gym nights, then makes gym night Ruby. Who has a special so many animation. What? Yeah, lady diamond doesn't have a special animation, but Ruby does.
That's weird. Very weird. I don't know if it's case of like, um, I don't know if it's just that those are just ones they've done so far and they're still working on stuff. I mean, the game is still very much in development.
Yeah. Yeah. It's so we'll have to wait and see on that. Um, let's see.
Oh, every single card that was played was all, we're all comments. There were no hollows, nothing. They were all comments. So I'm thinking that might be part of the accessories.
Maybe. Right. If you pay money, you can get the hollow. Also, one thing I just noticed, um, didn't, uh, so the first thing we saw was that Ariel was an ultra out of the, in the, in the, in Master dual or much earlier when they were showing off.
Oh, she was like either starlight or an ulti or something. She was an ultra very specifically. Um, she just got released at the time. There was no such thing as an ultra aerial.
She was super. I'm telling you, I thought it was ulti. Ultra or ulti. I'm thinking ultra because I had to go.
Anyway, um, Ariel just got released as an ultra. That's true. And the 10 that's true. So I'm at least, I'm either of us like just open like three tens and pull like three of it.
I mean, it's a two of at most. I got, I got my three Wendy's. Oh, it's Wendy. Yeah, I got three Wendy's.
Oh, okay. Which is the one you want three of. Okay. Anyway, and let's see, like even, even a cleafort towers was a common.
Wait, in the game? Yeah, in the game. Okay. I didn't realize that.
Uh, let's see. And then of course player XP and you can level, uh, the default name that they had in the game was the vagabond. What's the relevance there? I just thought it was neat.
Okay. Um, that being said though, then they actually had a PvP duel. Right. Where it was a Learless, uh, the TCG Learless.
So pure Learless with the nerve, the Nurgle. They got the bird call and all that. Right. Right.
Versus I don't, it was like neck night. Yeah. Yeah. It was invoked to make night.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Cause they do normal summon Alistair and it got like everybody lost their minds.
Yeah. It got negated though. So yeah, I got impermed. That's what it was.
Anyway, uh, that's not the key or there. But, um, some of the cards were hollow, but if that's more of them were common. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. So again, that brings up is it that the cards actually have the rareties or do you have to like pay for the rarity bump? Um, you're probably going to pay for it. Yeah.
I had to guess. Yeah. Which I, I wouldn't mind. Um, you know, just everything starts as common.
Then you can like page, pay the gems to go, okay, now this is a super. Now this is an ultra. It's definitely something you can possibly do. Oh, yeah.
Uh, let's see. And also, whenever he did pick a duel, it had one of three decks listed, uh, whenever it was just kind of a free play, quote unquote, right, right? Or just set where in the, because when you open up the one of the stories, it says like scenario, scenario, scenario, scenario, dual scenario, scenario, goal. Okay.
Yeah. The scenarios were very specifically you had to pick. You had to play the deck. We give you or just an info dump.
And then whenever he clicked dual, it gave brought up a list of three decks and it was a cleave for a deck, a gem night deck and a, um, roll child's decks. So, so I don't know if that's just in those instances you can bring in your own deck or they're like, hey, you can use one of these decks. This may be like a difficulty selection. I don't know.
I do think that we will have more information on that soon. Yeah. But until we actually get the information, it's hard to speculate about anything in this game. Yeah.
Um, and then they did confirm. Yes, it will be on every available on your spot. Every console. They confirmed cross platform, but not cross play.
Does that make any sense? Um, yeah, it'll be on like the swag. It'll be on PS five Xbox steam. Right.
It'll be in all of those places, but you know, will you be able to play with somebody that's on their phone while you're on steam? No, we don't know. Yeah. As of this moment, the answer is no, because it's cross platform not cross play.
Cross platform just means you can play on multiple different consoles. Uh, if it's cross, we don't know if it's cross play yet. You turn it out. Yeah.
Okay. Okay. So what's, um, what other master dual info do we have? That's, that's really all they really showed.
Really? Yeah. And then like most of it was just dueling. Oh boy.
It's almost an Alster in 4K. Yeah. Yeah. I don't want some Alster in 4K.
It's getting to my M perm and then link it off into Artemis and then length, Artemis and some neck, night into blah, blah, blah. Right. Right. Yeah.
But no, some Alster in 4K. Let's go. I mean, hey, whatever does the job. So, um, all right.
So moving on into our next topic. We want to talk a little bit about the Megatons. So come out today as of listening. Right.
I was recording at this point. It's gotten really late. Yeah. So, um, so we went to our local Walmart just to see just on the random off chance they had them.
They put them out of the early. Yeah. They put them out there early. So we have them now.
Yeah. That is, that is very, very new for us. Yes. Because normally our Walmart doesn't actually get the tens for like weeks and weeks after the last year's tens literally, literally, we did not get them until like November or December.
Yeah. We got them so late that I didn't even buy any because I was like, there's just no point. There's nothing I need out of here. I got it already.
Someone else. Yeah. Like just bought the singles, traded from someone else, something like that. Right.
Right. There's no point anymore. So I got three. So I got one.
Yeah. Um, what do you pull? Well, I actually got a lot of really cool stuff. I got a place.
Like I said, before I got a place of racial Wendy, which is great for my shut off. I got the prismatic secret cross sheet, which is beautiful. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. Do that card is gorgeous. I also got a prismatic secret. Elle should all construct.
Okay. Yeah. It's the altart that was from the structure deck. It also it looks so good.
It's a secret. It really does. Like I got a flertily two torn scales, only one more and I can build phantom knights. Yeah.
Yeah. I got one secret, right? It's not secret. Super like stain griefs, I think.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He was a common infantic.
Right. So that's a nice upgrade. Yeah. I got an ultra flertily, which was super nice.
I got Keras, which you are, which you said you were interested in. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. I'm coming for it.
Yeah. I got two of the I got two of the super rare drytron names that had that were only common rare. Okay. Like there's a lot of really cool stuff.
What you get? Okay. Okay. Okay.
So I opened one little baby, baby old 10. Um, my one little baby, baby old 10. I got a raviol, Lord of the Phantasms shimmering. Oh, I got your eye other red one.
It's also this one's the retrain, the one from the structure deck. Yeah. They still look very nice. Yeah.
I got an invoked, a gloides. That's still a good card. Yeah. My third secret was the virtual world.
Laulau. Was it Laulau? I think it was a laulau. Oh, I got to pull it out now.
We actually, because we actually set aside the virtual world stuff we got for somebody else for a friend of ours who is actually running virtual world and almost every virtual card in the 10 isn't a prairie and a cheap up rarity too. Yeah. I don't know what I did with it. Oh, I think it's in myself.
Okay. It's okay. We'll get it. Yeah.
Anyway, I think it is a lot of love. You're probably right. Yeah. Anyway, and then all my secrets.
Yeah. All three of them are core. I really like the way they did where all the secrets are just a really gorgeous all prayer. These the raviol Lord of Phantasms shimmering scraper is probably one of the best looking secrets ever seen just the purple Pops.
Oh, my God. Yes. Yeah. I'm going to definitely relegated the secret response to just being gorgeous prismatic secret rares, which I'm which I like.
What were your, uh, ultras? Oh, ultra is okay. So, you know, you get six ultra is I got a gizmet cockoo, which is nice. Yeah.
Yeah. Eerie of the water trauma gentle quads, chidal, chios and AI contact. And that's only four. What were your other two?
Okay. So I also got a triple tactics talent and a divine arsenal. A a's. Yes.
Broken. Yeah. Yeah. It was such a good 10.
I'm not even going to lie to you. Yeah. I could have pulled nothing else. Just getting those was just well worth the 10.
Yeah. The supers I got like a Melfield of four super, which is cool and infernal arms Dorendal, which that was actually good. That was like a $10 ultra. Oh, yeah.
Now it's like now it's a couple of dollars super option. If you want to run the or less if you want to run the infernal lights, I got a super care. A Riggle the silver shell. Yes.
Yes. I'm awesome. I guess I actually pulled two of the secret for Geez. Oh, yeah.
Also gorgeous. You have collector errors. So yeah, I got the starlights. Yeah.
Yeah. Sorry. I always get the two mixed up. Dude.
I don't know. Why did I put so much money into that deck? Because it's the best of the because it was the best deck of the format right now. It probably still is the best.
It might still be even though because they didn't really hit the deck. They hit the zoo part of the deck. Well, yeah, I mean, yeah, not even very hard. Now they hit the zoo part that really hard.
But here's the thing. The zoo package is still playable within the deck. Isn't that crazy to think about? I know, right?
I mean, like the best version of that deck is probably still just the zoo version. Yeah. Like, I don't know. I think it's OK.
I say that I think it's actually probably like a blend. I'm actually running no spoilers on my deck list, but I'm running both zoos and cats in line, which is an interesting build. I think it works because the cats. I don't know.
I think that without so you put three cards and that gives you some space. But if like if you run the cats, then you kind of have to run the if you run the cats, you have to run gammas, but then you can just cut valors and burn the game of baggage. And it's like, it's fine if you're like over 40 by just a little bit, you know? Oh, yeah.
No, because that deck is searchers who search for searchers who search for searchers that search. Yeah, something like that. Probably not to that extent, not like a not like a gokey. We're literally every single car in the deck search for another card in the deck.
Right. Right. But close. Yeah, like I really like how the way they did these tens where they have a lot of good cards and the super and secret slot, but those are mostly relegated to up and down rarities.
Right. And we print the power cards run the ultra slot, which is both good and bad, good because you get to ultra per pack. Yeah, you know, it's awesome. As compared to the secrets, we only get one.
Yeah, but it's also bad because there's a crap to a metric crap ton of ultra is in the eye. I think there's like 40 something ultra. So right around 40. So pulling any one individual ultra is really difficult.
Yeah, just to say. Yeah. But like, yeah, okay. So like I spent like $20 per 10.
I feel actually I feel pretty good with what I pulled. Um, you know, yeah, I probably didn't make any of my money back, but I got a lot of really cool stuff for decks. I didn't even consider building. Here's the thing.
I really do not think that when you put together this deck, you do it with the intention. I mean, I put together this deck by the 10 when you if you buy these tins, I really don't think that you buy them with the sheer intention of making money. I think it's plus. Yeah, exactly.
I think it's more to get things that you've been looking to pick up for a while or to get like cross outs, you know, the new cards. Yeah, which I think the only new car in the entire state is CrossFit. Doesn'tator. Um, probably.
Yeah, there might be one or two that I'm just not cognizant of just due to it probably being like in the common slot or something. Oh, the, um, the the the blue eyes and dark magician cards. Right. Right.
Yes. The new blue eyes and dark magician stuff. I completely forgot about it. Yeah, everybody's completely forgot about it.
Yeah, because I got over because like I mean, as soon as I say it, announce that those three cards were in there, they also made them a sake of announcing that. Yeah, I was in there too at the same time. Yeah, I blew over shadow all the way. Yeah.
Yeah, which I did pull the pure light, the blow eye strap, which works like the eternal soul. Yeah, which works like eternal soul. Yeah, which is cool. It's cool.
Not everyone run blue eyes, but it's cool. Yeah, yeah, the decks underwhelming. Yeah, it's a good word. Yeah.
Um, yeah. Like, so basically if you're wanting to buy any of the 2021 tens, do it not to plus, but do because you know, you're going to get a bunch of really cool stuff and then just buy singles for what you need. Right. Yeah, I would agree with that.
Especially if you have the, if you still have the 2020, 2010 because then they go together because it's the tablet from the anime. It's two parts of the tablet from the anime. Yeah. I mean, even just like, even just to just looking at it.
Yeah, just put up on a shelf. Yeah, it's really like, it's really nice. And they kind of like sit into each other, which kind of works a lot better than I thought it was going to on. So I'm looking at it right now and it's kind of kind of nice.
Yeah, like they're almost the exact same size and shape. So they fit right on top of each other. Well, and they've got like the little pyramid and tension. So it kind of locks it, locks itself in a little bit.
Yeah, it literally does. Yeah, it does. Yeah. And then I think we're supposed to be getting, I think next year's trends are also supposed to do that.
I could be wrong about that. Yes. Yes. Next year's teams will also have another, the final piece of the tablet, which will be God cards.
Yeah, which is going to look amazing. It'll be cool. I'm not a fan. Don't look.
It's going to look amazing. But I'm also like, like, I'm also like super into the old anime because I watch that all the time when I was a kid. Yeah. But I think people are just like tired of getting like DM era support.
Fair enough. Like I'm fine with getting DM era support in less less than card support. More in like, hey, this product is based off of this really cool thing from this era. Right.
You know, like, I would, you know, like I would think that I've done with this. They could probably do something with something from GX maybe. Well, they have a whole GX battle city box coming. Yeah.
But like, I mean, for like after they're done with the, you know, the tablet from the anime, they could probably for the next 10 probably do something from GX. I think it would probably have to be something where they did something with the three houses. Yeah. Three dorms.
Yeah. Well, there's definitely the thing that upsets me and the issue with it to me is that the promos are now not guaranteed cards. Yeah. Well, in that point, they're not even promos.
They're these 10s just don't have any promos. Yeah, they're just world premiere cards. Yeah, which is disappointing. I've really miss back when they had promos.
Yeah, even though, like even though some of the promos weren't. That was like, oh, that's great. And I'm saying, you know, I'm so much better than that. Yeah.
I'm not a good kid. I'm so much better than that. I'm so much better than that. It's like, yeah, I'm a good kid.
I'm not a good kid. I'm a good kid. I'm a good kid. Yeah, like even though some of the promos weren't good, none of them are good.
Well, no, no, because like some of the old promos were more amazing. Oh, I see what you're saying. Yeah, and then like some of the, like literally the exact same 10 you had like, two amazing promos and then like one or two there was kind of meh. Right, yeah.
You know, and I'm like, that, I mean, the thing is, the promos back then were reprints. Yes. Well, cause yeah, nine times that 10 are reprints. I think there was like one promo that wasn't a reprint.
That was a few infirmative. Yeah, but like that was usually because it was attached to a set where that card also was in. Right, right, right. Kind of like how we do the pre-release promos now.
It was something similar to that. Right, right. But I'm thinking about special editions, which is separate from 10s. Some of the special editions were new cards, but most of them were like reprints of like, uprayers or down barriers of cards within the set.
Yeah. A la reborn Tengu. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Just as an example.
Right, right. Yeah, but that, that's kind of a reprint. Hmm. I mean, it was definitely a reprint.
It was just a rarity bump. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, like, it's kind of weird cause it's kind of like, it's kind of like with like with this past set with Beach or Skal Buggy. Yeah.
Where was the down where already downgrade? Oh, the past couple of ones actually have all just been already downgrades where instead of secrets, it's got an ultra, which is neat. A blood. Yeah, but the thing is, is it's these cards, the ultra's end up being a higher rarity.
Yeah, because it was a promo. Right. Yeah, you know, so, you know, so, you know, people looking to go, oh cool, you got the secrets, but you show up at the place of ultras, you probably spent 60 bucks at the pre-release and got three. If, if your OTS will let you.
Yeah. Because most OTSs are very much with one per customer. Yeah. It happens product delays cause.
Yeah. There to be issues with how much product they can allow per customer. Yeah, product lobby and all that. It could, yeah.
And, you know, I'm not, you know, I'm not saying that's a bad thing on part of the, of the store itself. It's not their fault. So there's nothing they could do to stuff. They could do about it.
Everybody's just kind of doing whatever they can do at this point. Yeah. I'm sure Konami's doing what they can to get out as much product because the more product they get out the more than money they make. Right, right.
But it's just so many issues. So let's just start circling back now that we've rambled on for a while. Right. Yeah.
Tomorrow we're going to be going to a tin case tournament. It's about a four hour drive. Should be fun. It's a 3v3 tournament.
Yes. At one up TCG in Mendenhall, Mississippi. How we talked about how the 3v3 tournaments work here on the podcast? I don't think we have.
No, actually, yeah. You're right. I don't think we have. So the way a 3v3 tournament works in Yu-Gi-Oh.
I know a lot of our listeners are newer to the game. So we'll clue you in. The 3v3s are actually set up in a way in which, so you have a team of three people. And you designate before the tournament and it's written on deck lists and everything.
Which player is the A? Which player is the B? And which player is the C? Okay.
