Cycling The Longest Road In The World - Tim Pickett Rides For His Life
from Great British Adventures · host Tom Bryan
Tim Pickett might just be the greatest British adventurer you've never heard of. A survivor of child abuse, Tim spent decades keeping his past locked up and struggled for most of his life with suicidal depression. But it wasn't until his 40s, when a friend invited him on a bike ride, that he found something he enjoyed, was good at, and crucially gave him the feeling of self worth Since that moment, Tim has found he has a talent of riding big miles on the bike. He's cycled across Australia, Route 66 and he recently completed the Pan-American Highway, completely self supported - a journey of over 15,000 miles. Tim is the toughest cyclist I know and in this conversation we discuss stories from his recent adventure crossing the Americas, as well as his story of finding strength, resilience and purpose through cycling.
