South Australians head to the polls this weekend in what will be the first big political test for the ascendant One Nation party. The ABC’s chief election analyst Casey Briggs says whilst Labor and Premier Peter Malinauskus will likely be returned to Government there will be some surprises. Tropical cyclone Narelle is definitely not as harmless as she sounds.. Now upgraded to a category five she’s headed for Queensland's Cape York Peninsula packing wind gusts of up to 300 kilometres per hour. According to climate scientist Dr. Andrew Watkins Narelle is precisely the sort of ferocious storm we could see more of in the years ahead. The plight of the Iranian women’s footballers brought Australians onto the streets and moved the immigration minister to grant them permanent residency at the stroke of pen. But away from the gaze of the media, thousands of Iranian asylum seekers wait and wonder if they’ll ever be granted permanent protection by Australia.
