Cyclones Rebuild: New Faces, New Roles | Big 12 Basketball News

The Iowa State Cyclones are undergoing a major shakeup this season, with three top scorers from last year gone—Milan Momcilovic to Kentucky, Joshua Jefferson drafted by the NBA, and Tamin Lipsey signing with the Pacers. Nate Heise, a key contributor, has also used up his eligibility. On the coaching staff, T.J. Otzelberger lost assistants JR Blount and Kyle Green, who moved to head coaching roles, and brought in Tim Buckley and Allan Hanson to fill the void. Chuck Ruffing joins as an assistant, bringing experience from Western Illinois and recruiting ties in Wisconsin. Graduate assistants Richardson Maitre (with international pro experience) and Fletcher McGarvey (formerly a team manager) are stepping up. Plus, two former Cyclones are back in leadership roles: Diante Garrett as Director of Player Development and Thomas Pollard as Director of Recruiting for his fifth year with the program.
