Dawnita Brown is a woman of many parts - co-founder and Chief Visionary Officer of BlackGirls Global Exchange (BGGE), a global ambassador program for girls which uniquelycultivates leadership through artistic activism and service in a way that promotes anequitable exchange of ideas addressing social issues between girls in the US and Africa, former federal employee wellness coordinator, graphic designer, returned Peace CorpsVolunteer, host of The Selfull Caregiver Podcast, Certified Caregiving Consultant™Educator™ Facilitator™, loving daughter and most of all proud full-time selfull caregiver toher mama Joan.Sudden caregiving for her mother was something Dawnita was not prepared for, but afteralmost 4 years of serving as the sole caregiver for her fully dependent mother, she learnedthe importance of caring for herself in order to better care for her mother. This philosophy, known as “selfullness” (the sweet spot between selfish and selfless), has become Dawnita’smission. In 2021, she founded Hey Caregiver! a lifestyle brand that educates, equips, andencourages caregivers to live a life of “selfullness” during their caregiving journey. She alsofounded “The Binti Circle”, a support group for Black daughters caring for their mothers .After navigating this journey primarily alone, Dawnita created the community she sodesperately needed and now envisions a community of holistically well caregivers livingselfull lives.
