Hello, welcome to D-block live. Sorry. I didn't get you guys earlier My computer crashed and you know how Windows 7 computers are they just love to take their sweet ass time And I'd like to take mine as well But question of the hour is do these earphones make me look fat. That would be a challenge, but we'll make it work And in the meantime, we'll talk about the more recent advances in radio CSW lately welcome Sorry, I don't have a theme for this yet.
Can't believe it's happy to the mind on the theme for my own show. I mean God, right? Anyway, I'm from from the music hall that one practice room which doesn't have piano This is Josh reporting live for radio CSW Well, anyway lately I've been working on putting together the student radio Student works radio special for performance hour Which in fact used to be classical hour, but then I realized not all musicals classical and that's when my world was suddenly expanded from its Two-dimensional borders to something a little more four-dimensional to least So I guess to to commemorate the first real kind of students involvement with the performance hour classical hour I'm gonna recount you the history of classical hour It started last year of actually around this time When I was just starting the radio station. I actually set up and everything nobody really knew about it I was just testing it out and I was in a class called the 4-A Requiem where we're a small group of We're a small group of students and teachers sing through the half hour piece of the 4-A Requiem And I wanted to record and I wanted people who didn't get to come see it which was actually quite a few people to To listen to it anyway, so I decided why not give the radio station a whirl so not not really A pro at this and you and if you listen to it, I think it's still on this.
I'm not sure if not all posted If and if you listen to it is far from where we are now I hadn't completely figured out how to use the system I wasn't used to stopping the middle and having to pause start again. I really shouldn't have done it live. That was the thing But I started but I started off by introducing it as classical hour welcome to classical hours sort of you know mimicking And I would and really you see this pattern throughout radio station history That you know mimicry that it's like mimicry is a fine forms of lottery that type of thing By the way if you hear that that's the practice or next to me. I'm assuming it's go be gray anyway Yeah, go be anyway Where was I right?
So we're mimicking the 99.5 classical hour on on on on on WCRB One of my favorite channels to all working. This is why we now have Why we now have what we're going to have study hour which is music just for Just for study more than music call music you'll hear more about later And then it could evolve from that I continue taking you know on I Continue taking music classes where Michael or Gustavo would bring in a group select a few players to play for us and I would ask to record and you'd say yes and A lot of those are actually still up if you want to listen to them. They're really great performances and really good quality I Continue to call it classical hour until I realized that I eventually have to record something that wasn't classical But that was under the realm of classical hour material So I just need to change the name to performance hour And then I got the idea for the studio special because I knew then 2015 I wanted to really ramp up the stuff for CSW for Radio CSW That's weird. Sorry, it's all in weird smell feeling kind of dizzy.
Oh, it's just a metal on this thing But it's sort of interesting because I Because this is really the first thing where I really tried to publicize this kind of stuff Unfortunately, it hasn't only worked. We only have like two submissions including me actually not including me. Sorry. I forgot about somebody else Sorry Ben Yeah, so um remember to submit your student works to student works for you especially know me at J Holt's 2016 at C w dot work.
You don't even have to go to the school I mean who cares nobody's listening anyway, right? So that's that's one thing in radio CSW news another thing is that next week Radio CSW will be at the dodgeball tournament. Yes, we will be live broadcasting dodgeball tournament and it's gonna be awesome We're gonna have some sports reporters under under leadership of Sam Honeck as well as a lot of people I I have to go back I'll tell you later, but uh, but I'm really excited for that could be really awesome All next week we'll be recording all the different games. So uh, yeah, it's gonna be awesome in other radio CSW news Study Hour is gonna be premiering tomorrow actually.
We will have music for Those people who like to listen to music while they study it's gonna be worthless music from all different genres classical jazz modern all over the place Really? It's really gonna be fun. I don't have that much music. So if you want to send in music for the radio station, please please really do so And if you're listening to this Thank you.
We haven't had many listeners lately Also, I've been working on on well, actually here's the important thing last week. I canceled the daily I told you why in the quick, you know, four minute finale, but I want to elaborate I canceled the daily because well, it wasn't original content. It wasn't real content It wasn't real reporting either It's just going to different websites seeing what was new I was trying to fill airtime was trying to do and I realized that's not the treatment that the station deserves We deserve, you know high high quality Programs even if it means releasing maybe one thing per week or one thing every two weeks even So I decided to concentrate on making better quality radio shows people what we want to listen to as opposed to trying to fill the Waiting for somebody to but in so far it's only been me butting in so Please submit to the radio station. We are very long on to very low on the snare's Also, I it was also taking up a lot of my time the daily.
It was really it wasn't going anywhere. It wasn't helping at all Also, I'm sorry for the late broadcast. I realized I marked this down is three o'clock. I Got carried away with some other stuff and D block live will soon be more planned including next week when we'll have some deep block live stuff We'll be interviewing people going around seeing what other D blocks are doing Getting people for live performances here in the studio This the studio referring to the one practice room that doesn't have a piano and Yeah So if you have any ideas for programs, please send them to me or start making them yourself I mean, it's not very hard to scrap a computer even So really I didn't prepare this and I really did plan to I really wanted to make this the first really well-planned a Deep Lock live I don't know what to do from here.
So I'm just gonna go ahead sign off. Thanks everyone for listening. Oh, wait Wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait, before sign off um um um um right But recently invited me to come record their their their their their fabulous open mic which would be really really a lot of fun I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm not I'm not assuming I'm I know it's going to be great content there and Listen everybody's gonna be great. Sorry my voice is really hoarse today.
