Are we on air? Okay, finally, finally, finally, finally we are on air. So, so I thought that we were having some technical difficulties plus an annoying drum in the other room who doesn't think... I don't know, drum, somewhere, soundproof?
Anyway, uh, we were hoping to broadcast through our mixed console, but it was being asked also, uh... That's your bad, mix. I'm gonna go ahead and install it. I'm a little sick today.
I just don't feel like doing this, so I'm gonna- I'm gonna play you, like, some past thing. Happy birthday, David! In order to do that, here's Jazz on the Quad. I've played a million times at the beginning.
Enjoy. It's coming up. Coming up. It's coming up!
It's loading! It's loading! And it's slow as hell! Here we go, Jazz on the Quad.
And... What you're about to hear is CSW's Jazz Ensemble from 2014, Mach 7, about the third beat. Um, the light's a little performance on the Quad. Beautiful summer day with those lazy ones where...
You know, people have thrown frisbees or ice bikes at the beach, and seeing your prank is somewhere along the way, I think. I can't really tell. Sort of confusing ones here. You know, beach chairs on the Garthwaite.
It peaks down to 2014 in front of Garthwaite. Good luck, tell. Enjoy. Starting the retreat.
It's a beautiful day at CSW at the Quad, here. Stay tuned for more time. Stay tuned for more time. I'm coming up next.
Thank you for listening to a lot of time, come again soon. Hello, welcome back. Um, yeah, so, um, you know, that was fun. I wanted to do a little flashback for you guys.
To our first broadcast ever, that was about a half year ago. And just thank you to everyone who made, who helped us come to fruition. Here's our first broadcast ever. Enjoy.
Welcome to Radio CSW's first official broadcast. I'm Josh Holzmann, your host. Listen in. You're welcome.
CSW's the first broadcast of CSW's first official online radio station. My name is Josh Holzmann, your new voice of CSW and Tumblehost. Of course, I myself am not the singular voice of CSW. That position is for you to fill.
I'm just so excited to finally get this project off the ground. I first started developing this idea. I knew CSW needed a media source and a fail-proof one. Open all students, of course.
Then I thought, on radio station, it would be the perfect thing for CSW. To media outlet, it's not generic like a school radio, like a school TV station, excuse me, or like a school paper. It's easily maintainable. It's true, it's actually quite easy.
I knew CSW was a radio school from the moment I stepped into my first assembly. The types of people and the way they shared their ideas, their personalities and ways of life through lively conversations, performances and activities, it just blew me away. No other media type profile could possibly match this feeling of euphoria I felt here. Not a newspaper, not a TV station, not anything.
So here I am at your service. The rest is up to you because God knows I'm not the voice of CSW. Anyway, what you just heard was born on the volume by Credence. If you don't know who they are, look who they are, because they are the best.
Arguably, of course. So again, I would like to start with my first episode of something I've been producing called The Daily, which is my CSW and World News kind of local show. It'll include world news and brief CSW news, weather, lunch menu, music and more, of course. Pretendance, every few days, CSW is yours, is what I'm saying about this.
Enjoy. Nice working again. Welcome to the first episode of The Daily. As you very well know, I'm your host, Josh Holzman, and here's what's happening in the world and here at CSW.
Tension Titan, as recently reports of Ebola in the United States bring more details to public. As I'm sure you're supposed to, you can tell she would say there's nothing to worry about. Meanwhile, the epidemic of Ebola in West Africa continues. F-4s.
Tension is in the Middle East, prompted by the summer's attacks on Gaza and the emergence of the terrorist group who call themselves to leave as long as state. Rise, rise as more air attacks are being commenced by the US in Cobain. A full report will be presented next week. For more details, check the broadcast schedule.
In Boston, the Sarnia of trials continue against the one surviving boss of Homer. More evidence is being brought out against the defendant. You know what to tell you, I'll tell you all to you that I was fresh to put this bit together. My computer broke down two nights ago and I was unable to do what I was, what will become my usual full report on, on the issues at hand.
So I apologize. Also, I'm a bit nervous and have a little bit of a cold. So I apologize for my sound and clarity. Anyway, continuing.
It's CSW news, mod 2 begins very very well with jolt. As everyone, especially new students, are forced to adapt to both the process of exiting a mod break and a new lunchroom setup. The setup has moved toasters in condiment station to where the dessert and flavored waters used to be and the dessert has moved to one of two places, either at the end of the hot food bar or right near the door. It really depends on the day, doesn't it?
Not new students are busy preparing the insect play this year's fall production. Being performed the 23rd through 25th, this will not be one to miss, especially as the relatively new theater chair bar will begin selling into what looks like what looks like could be a long and prosperous career here at CSW. In the graphic gallery, this mod is a brand new exhibit, Kiss the Ground, by Gajic, a routine union, I think that's a good answer. A muscle artist and a sculpture artist.
I'm sure Todd would appreciate if you all gave it a visit because I'm sure what I told you is incorrect. I'll have to do some more research on that. Sorry y'all. If I end up looking at CSW sports, join all night tomorrow afternoon during the daily for looking at sports because, well, that wasn't my day.
Sorry. No announcements or requested birthday slash fun shout-out sent to me today. If you'd like to be announced or to announce on the show or to mention somebody for fun or for their birthday contact me at jacoltsman2016 at csw.org. More CSW news tomorrow's daily.
As for tomorrow, the weather looks like another warm day, like yesterday, with a high of 78 degrees, a peak of our little heat wave here in Boston. Particularly cloudy with a low of 62 will be a slightly breezy at best, so recently I'd like to wear underneath that light sweatshirt for the morning. Of course that's for today. Tomorrow will be cooled by a good chance of incoming showers, unfortunately.
So be prepared with a nice sweatshirt and raincoat or rain gear for that 58 degree low. Now for the food forecast, my favorite part. Today's lunch looks like a Super Bowl promotion bowl, as they call it, and a beef-readable. Another two bowls in October, Super Bowl's lunch lineup.
Don't worry, if that doesn't fit your lunch needs, other options will include cream of mushroom and beef veggie soup at the super bar, oodont noodles and veggie broth at the full bar, and guacamole black beans and rice as the side. Topping it all off will be a chocolate caramel cake, not to be missed. As for tomorrow, it looks like a grilled turkey rubin accompanied by quinoa and veggies, and topped off by a carrot cake. Please tell me I'm not the only one who's a huge fan of carrot cake, okay?
That's all I have time to prepare for today, to do my computer first up, session last night, to do an intro for tomorrow's daily, for a sports sport by no one to watch, more news, some music, and more on the daily. Also, I'm holding a little competition to see who can read this transcript better than I. See below for the full transcript and submit a recording of your voice, whoever wins will become the new host of the daily. Thanks for listening.
Our theme was performed and possibly written slash supervised by Nick and Will. Thanks to them. All other credits go to me. Thanks for listening.
And nobody ever submitted to that contest. And I can see why nobody would want to be the host of the daily. It's becoming more of a chore for me than anything else and frankly nobody's listening. Well anyway, that's about it.
I just don't have any energy today. I'm sorry. I would have done some fun stuff today. Join us next week for some more stuff.
As you'll hear me slowly getting more and more tired. As you'll see my life fall apart at the seams as more and more work piles up. Good night everybody.
