We didn't always toe the line and now I wonder how we'd be If Dad didn't have the heart to correct us on his knee When he wasn't pullin' double-shifts to pay the bills on time He led us all in prayer before Mom turned out the lights All his sacrifices kept our family goin' And I'm glad he handed down that devotion I'm DAD-ICATED to raising our kids With tough love and hugs in a home where God lives They know they can count on me To be around when life gets complicated I'm DAD-ICATED It ain't easy watching mini-mes make their own mistakes And sometimes I don't follow all the righteous words I say But day after day I do the best I can To listen, comfort, guide, and understand And in a world that spreads hate like a cancer I teach 'em love your neighbor's the answer REPEAT CHORUS If our children end up knowing the difference between joy and happiness Then I'll proudly say I did my part to help them be their best REPEAT CHORUS Love being DAD-ICATED Dewey Longuski (BMI) ©2024
