Dad I'm Going To Make You Proud

Happy Monday, Limitless Family! I hope you guys are ready to Go! I hope you are excited and I hope you are ready for another amazing week ahead. We’re going to talk about being sober and your environment changing around you. So most of you know if you don’t know, I’ve been sober for the last 11 months now free of drugs and alcohol. I’m in the best shape of my life. I’m the strongest I’ve ever been. My mental capacity is through the roof and I wake up every single day blessed and grateful for another day ahead. My social environment has completely changed because of it. You see, my dad was a drug and alcohol counselor for 24 years. He was also an alcoholic for 20. He told me I had a genetic disposition to be prone to addiction. Well me, being the dumb kid I was, said, “Ok. Dad, sure.” Well, he was right to a tee. When I would drink, I didn’t just drink to have fun. I would drink to get fucked up. When drinking began, to start soon would be followed by a little dash of powder which turned into long nights passing around a plate of cocaine until the sun rose. You might ask why I share this with you. Because I’m human. I learned a valuable lesson from my past that may help. Drinking was a trigger that would escalate into something so much bigger. I would order Uber Eats, put me into a coma and never leave the couch. I was in shape, but also lacked muscle density proportion and was not healthy one bit. Fast forward to today, understanding that I take the necessary steps to never be in that position again. I’m home by the latest at 11 PM ready to wake up early and start my day. Hangovers don’t exist and morning walks take place listening to podcasts furthering my education. And this is not a podcast saying don’t drink. Understand what makes you tick and what makes you fall. Here’s to 11 months sober. Dad, I’m gonna make you so proud.
