TRANSCRIPT · AUTO-GENERATED

Good afternoon, this is for Powered with the Daily Beast. It's Tuesday May 11, and these are the top stories the Chi Chi team is watching right now. During an interview with CNN on Monday, California gubernatorial hopeful Caitlyn Jenner took a page from Donald Trump's playbook of not providing any actual plans or policies during a campaign bid. She attempted to explain why Californians should recall current Governor Gavin Newsom and placed her in charge of the state, despite the fact that she has no prior political experience whatsoever.

Nonetheless, Jenner said she's going to tackle California's large economy by surrounding herself, quote, with really great people, without even explaining what exactly that meant. Jenner went on a Trump-like tangent while describing one of the people she purportedly discussed economic policy with, saying he, quote, was just like the best, so smart. Jenner, who's being advised by former Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale, says that she does not see herself as a Republican, but more, quote, in the middle due to her supposed progressive stance on social issues. The hilarious part, or frightening, depending on how you look at it, is before the interview ended, she made sure to say that Americans are in a post-Trump world, despite the fact that she's nearing a lot of the same moves he made.

An 18-year-old and her boyfriend have been charged with attempting to kill the girl's father because he allegedly would not allow the daughter's boyfriend to visit her after midnight. In January, the father was asleep in his Nebraska home when his head was bashed in with a metal meat tenderizer and a wooden rod. The attack was so brutal that the 59-year-old father had to be put in a medical coma while being treated for brain bleeds and skull fractures. Following a court appearance Monday, the daughter and her boyfriend were held in lieu of a million-dollar bail each.

Putting it plainly, former President Donald Trump's new communications platform, or blog, sucks. It launched last week and, according to user data, shows less than the spire for numbers. The site, titled From the Desk of Donald J. Trump, has garnered a little more than 212,000 engagements, such as reposts, likes, and comments from sites like Facebook and Reddit.

In comparison, a single Twitter post from the former president could usually draw in hundreds of thousands of likes and retweets. The blog slash Trump pity party platform was put together after major social media sites banned him after the January 6th insurrection. On the side, Trump gets to talk about his favorite topics. You know, baseless voter fraud claims congratulating political allies and attacking his enemies.

Remember that tiger that was cruising around in Houston neighborhood earlier this week? It's a lot more complicated than just a wild tiger that may have gotten loose from a zoo or something. Authorities say a murder suspect was out on bond Sunday night when his bingo tiger, which he reportedly keeps in his backyard, somehow got out. The 26-year-old suspect fled the scene with the tiger when police responded to calls from horrified neighbors about this huge wild cat just strolling near their homes.

Houston police now say the suspect is in custody, but have admitted, quote, the whereabouts of the tiger are not yet known. That's all for today. Check back every weekday morning and afternoon for more than anything you need to know. Find us wherever you listen to the podcast.
