Daily Devo | First, The Bad News... (Flashback Friday, Romans 2:5-16)

from Highrock Church

In this flashback to October 11, 2024, we see Paul continuing to address a congregation divided by spiritual pedigree and ethnicity. Despite their differences, Paul emphasizes that they all share a connection to God's law. Jews had the Scriptures and were educated to know the Lord from a young age. Gentiles, even without the written Law, have a sense of God's law written into their consciences. We thus all share a connection to God's law and we all share the experience of breaking that law. We therefore have no excuse to judge others! Looking for a previous devo? Want to share one with a friend? Start here:https://www.highrock.org/daily-devotionals/For Reflection:Whether raised in the faith or not, we all have some knowledge of God's will.- Some people are raised to know the Lord from a young age, including the Jews of Paul's day. Were you raised in such a way? Did you see this blessing as a blessing?- Others were not raised in the faith. Their consciences are less clear than the Scriptures. Were you raised in such a way? How did you view those raised in the faith?- If you have children, which path do you want for them, and why?
