On that same night, the households of His own people were spared, not because they deserved it, but because they marked their doors with the blood of a lamb.This devotion follows that lamb to the one it always pointed toward. Jesus is the Lamb of God, the true Passover, sacrificed once for all people, for all time. The judgment that struck Egypt's firstborn, and that every sinner still deserves, fell instead on Jesus, God's own firstborn Son, so that death would pass over everyone covered by His blood. There we find true grace, forgiveness, and salvation, secured completely through His finished work. Through His redemption we are welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven, and in the Lord's Supper that same blood still marks us as His own, His true body and blood given for the forgiveness of sins.You do not have to wonder which side of that doorway you stand on.
