II Chronicles 34 details the reign of King Josiah of Judah, who began ruling at the young age of eight and reigned for 31 years. In the eighth year of his reign, he began to seek God earnestly, and by his twelfth year, he initiated widespread religious reforms, including the removal of idols and altars to foreign gods throughout Judah and Jerusalem. In the eighteenth year of his reign, during temple renovations, the Book of the Law was discovered. Upon hearing its words, Josiah was deeply moved and sought to renew the covenant with God, leading the people in a pledge to follow the commandments.
