Acts 5:12–14 (ESV) - “Now many signs and wonders were regularly done among the people by the hands of the apostles. And they were all together in Solomon's Portico. None of the rest dared join them, but the people held them in high esteem. And more than ever believers were added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women.” In this episode of Daily Devotions, Pastor David Sumrall reflects on the pattern of the early church and the importance of keeping Jesus at the center of ministry. The apostles were focused on proclaiming Christ, demonstrating His power through signs and wonders, and calling people to genuine faith. As people believed in Jesus, they were added to the community of believers. Pastor Sumrall explains that the mission of the church is not simply to attract crowds or build events, but to fulfill the Great Commission by leading people to a personal relationship with Christ. The early church grew because believers boldly preached Jesus, and those who responded in faith became part of the fellowship of the church.
