Daily Devotions: Leaders, Present Yourself to God - February 10, 2026

Exodus 34:1–3 (ESV) “The Lord said to Moses, ‘Cut for yourself two tablets of stone like the first, and I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke. Be ready by the morning, and come up in the morning to Mount Sinai, and present yourself there to me on the top of the mountain. No one shall come up with you, and let no one be seen throughout all the mountain. Let no flocks or herds graze opposite that mountain.’” In this episode of Daily Devotions, Pastor David Sumrall reflects on Exodus 33 and 34 and focuses on God’s instruction to Moses to “present yourself to Me.” After failure, delay, and disappointment, the Lord did not reject Moses. Instead, He called him back into His presence with accountability and purpose. This passage shows us that leadership begins and is sustained in personal time before God. Moses was required to come alone, prepared, and ready to stand before the Lord. The same pattern is seen throughout Scripture, where leaders regularly return to God to give an account of what they have done and taught.
