Acts 24:24-25 (NLT) – “...they listened to him as he told them about faith in Jesus Christ. He reasoned with them about righteousness, self-control, and coming judgment.”   In this episode of Daily Devotions, Pastor David Sumrall discusses the essential components of the New Testament Gospel that are often overlooked today. Drawing from the preaching of the Apostle Paul, he highlights that faith in Jesus Christ is inextricably linked to righteousness, self-control, and the reality of coming judgment. These doctrines provide the necessary foundation for a quality of salvation that remains steadfast.   Pastor Sumrall explains that while the love of God is central, the Gospel also includes the truth that God is a God of Justice who must judge sin. Removing right living and self-discipline from the message can lead to a shallow faith that quickly falls away.
