Daily Hadith: Day 9 | There Are Those That Learn the Religion, and There Are Those that Do Not Care

There are three types of people in regards to seeking knowledge of this religion. First, there is the person that seeks knowledge with understanding. He memorizes and he fully comprehends what he memorizes. When he goes back to the people, he is able to assist them in understanding the Quran and the Sunnah through his teaching. Second, there is the person that has a strong memory, but he is lacking in the understanding department. He is able to transmit the Hadith to the people, but he is not able to assist them in understanding the Hadith. This person is still a benefit to the Ummah because he is a transmitter of knowledge, and he might transmit the knowledge to a person that does understand. Lastly, there is the person that turns his back on knowledge. He does not seek knowledge nor is he concerned with seeking knowledge. He is perfectly happy being from the people of ignorance and living his life to fulfill his desires.
