This is the daily update for Wednesday, March 26th. Why can't it be Friday already? Nothing like starting out to a little old school incubus. They're a little redefine off of their album Science, which was their first major level debut, of course.
But just one of those, not another music kind of illustrated my day of frustration, I guess you'd say. That just sounds like getting the frustration out of music type of deal, but yeah, I don't know. It's just one of those, too much to do, not a time to do it. And none of the things that you have to do, you really want to do phone calls and extras and so on and so forth.
Not counterproductive, but non-essential. So therefore, it seems not essential, it feels not essential to them. Why the hell do it? But such is life, I suppose.
But one definite nice thing is the weather. It's a little nicer out today, again. In the upper 50s, hopefully get home, get a run in before we get a new dinner. And as you can probably hear, we are on the way home.
And just didn't get, just like that, too much issue to do and so to get to it today. Well, that's, not too much new. To report on, I don't even remember what I talked about yesterday. I know we tried, I know we tried, yeah, we tried, we tried to go on.
This upcoming Monday Cubs Brewers opening day at Riggly and the, I guess, official opening day in North America's, North America's spectrum at the MLB and planning on doing some ribs and besides so saying it was gonna be the Springfield area with not much to do that day. Please let me know, swing on by. I know Mike Stone, Neil, I are coming up for the ceremonies at the house. I think it's just cause they want to eat ribs.
I really don't think they want to hang out with me or watch the Cubs really. I think the ribs are the selling point. But at least I won't be alone on a board as I'm watching the Cubs. I guess I wouldn't be bored, but I guess alone eating and drinking alone as I'm watching the Cubs that day.
So I should be good stuff. On the subject of baseball again, I have an NL only league. I do this every freaking year. It seems like something frustrating that is in need of a team owner.
So if you are interested in, let me know as soon as possible, $50 buy in, dollar transaction fees, you just let me burn your end. It's, you need a fairly good amount of knowledge and fairly competitive league, but you need players again, of course. So anyways, think about that. If you're not interested, you think someone may be interested to throw them under the bus, give them either name and go over there.
And Jake, he's gonna be an old bunch of grief about not talking about basketball at all. College basketball, March of Madness, yeah, yeah, yeah, well, Jake. Fortunately, I shouldn't say unfortunately. I would talk about it, but unfortunately, I don't like talking about things that I don't know too much about.
If you consider it the only game I have watched, going to, college basketball games I've watched this year has been Belmont playing, whoever they were playing in their conference championship. And then Belmont playing Duke and almost meeting them at the first round of the tournament because I don't get excited about basketball anymore at all. It just doesn't, it's exciting to me. And I always use the argument that, you know, since Michael Jordan retired, but you know what, even if Michael Jordan, and there's probably talent as good as Michael Jordan, maybe not as exciting to watch as Michael Jordan or electrifying as Michael Jordan.
You know, LeBron James got me right up there, and I still, I just, basketball does not appeal to me anymore. And I don't know what it is. I mean, even football isn't as appealing as it used to be. Baseball, for some reason, I'm a blind and single man.
Like I said, talk about baseball all day, every day, you know, and you can't send me when I'm at home. And I'm on the internet just kind of thrown around for dinner, or she's watching TV or something. I don't, you know, not being particularly attention to. It's like, okay, what are you doing?
Reading about baseball stuff. I don't know. I just, I wish I could just immerse myself in the mail. MLB had a job opening in Springfield that allowed me just to do whatever with baseball.
You make the same amount of money and not have to travel. I was, you know, signing up in the RV, I would do it. So, so Jay, that's why I'm not talking about basketball too much. Anyone wants to add in on some basketball comments, you know, send me an email, give me a blog post and when I'm actually at the computer or at my desk blogging, I will, I will read it and make reference to it, talk about it.
That's all I gotta do, send it in. So, tomorrow's Thursday, hopefully we'll do, I've decided tomorrow I'm gonna preview some music, not necessarily new music, but maybe music that you guys haven't heard. And on Friday is gonna be letters to the editor day. So please send me a letter or make a comment on the new old podcast, podcast website there.
And someone, no one still has told me if you hit the subscribe button. Everyone look now, as you are at your computer, over to the right, there's this little column of stuff, it's called a widget column. I'm gonna go and run it down real quick, out of memory. There is a, of course, a classic picture pose of me that says daily update rules.
I was taking out the root house, which I haven't been doing forever, maybe Saturday night. I can let myself up with some root house action. Oh, got a phone call. Oh, it's from Cindy.
Here we go, we're gonna try the first conference call, or the first guest on the update, give me two seconds. Hello? He's hanging out talking. Well, I'm actually doing the update right now.
I can put her on speaker and see if that can work out. She can be the first update guest that successfully makes it off the update. Hold on a second. Hannah?
Yeah, I mean, that was pretty good. I know. So those, so everyone, those dinosaur-like sounds that you just kind of heard through a bad cell phone speaker where Hannah was talking. And she successfully made it on the first update guest.
So there we go. Or were you just calling for me to listen to Hannah? Well, I'm at Veterans in Jefferson, so I'll be home shortly. All right, love you.
There you have it. Thank you, Hannah Joy. So, okay, we were talking about the widgets along the side. That's what that bar is called.
It's called widgets. So over there underneath the picture is something that's subscribed with the plus, hit the subscribe button. And then tell me what happens, because I can't do it being the administrator of the podcast. So hit it and tell me what happens, and see if you can put in your email address, and see if it will send you an email when a new podcast is put up, because I know people like my brother, who, if I don't send out an email that has says daily update up, then he thinks I haven't put one up.
So please, someone do that. Let me know if that works the way I think it works. Below that, you see a little donation box. All you gotta do is have a PayPal account, or I gotta do is, yeah, have a PayPal account, but how much money you want to put in there?
You know, 50 cents, dollar, $10, $20, $100. And then that will, then you give me your money, and basically I'll go spend it. And it will go to things that I want to use. It'll be fun money.
And if I think about it after I spend it, I'll let you know what I bought with your money. Going on below that, I believe it's a calendar, and some other business. So that's over there. Get subscribed, let me know if it works, and how it works.
One other thing, I went ahead since I like doing this podcasting thing so much, or the web site, the web site is so easy to use. So if you want to try this, I definitely suggest using the web site. And let me know if you do that, because I'll send you an invite, and I get some special stuff. But anyways, I just went ahead and started one for the band, I just want the band.
So instead of having everyone bring in a CD for me to make copies of like our performances, or music I want them to listen to, I can't skater die, dude, skater die. That's not the mic and I did. You know, he's probably laughing right now. The band has one now, and it's got the spring concert on it.
And also a couple, well, only one song right now, but we'll have a couple songs to listen to that we're performing. So if any of you want to check out what our Pops concert was, which was the high school band in Jasmine, using the same microphone I'm using now, I recorded it. There was some distortion out, so I warned you don't turn it up too loud because it will distort out, and it's not crap, the under speakers hopefully won't hurt them. But as long as you're on it, you're on it, you're not gonna turn it up, it'll be fine.
But it's addressed as, no www, just a straight HTTP, colon backslash, backslash, and we've got an HTTP, H and S band, I've got Podbean.com. I said we've got four concert band songs, three Jasband songs up there, from our previous concert, a couple other stuff. So if you want to go listen to that, please do, it's there for your enjoyment as well. And I think that's pretty much wrap things up for today.
I feel so much better. Don't feel as worthless or stressed out because now I've done something productive, at least for myself today. So we will take you out with what we started you with, a little incubus, really fine, and we will hear you again tomorrow.
