Dallas Cowboys 2026 Initial 53-Man Roster and Transactions

Dallas Cowboys' mandatory transition from a large preseason roster to their initial 53-man squad for the 2026 season. To reach the league-mandated limit, the organization executed 39 personnel moves, which included waiving young prospects and releasing established veterans like Sam Williams and Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Beyond simple cuts, the team finalized a trade sending offensive tackle Nate Thomas to the Houston Texans in exchange for a future draft pick. Head coach Brian Schottenheimer noted that the high level of talent across the team made these final selections particularly challenging. While the current list features stars like Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, the front office expects further volatility as they monitor the waiver wire and establish a practice squad. Ultimately, these sources provide a comprehensive breakdown of the athletes remaining on the roster as the team prepares for its regular season opener.
