Had 3 trade offers when they were on the board- did think he was gonna be on the board Round 2 (51): CB Trevon Diggs, Alabama- Liked alot, interviewed, thought he could be a difference maker. Can help with loss of Byron Jones- Spent alot of time on (combine&conference) Ball skills, ability to be returner (1% chance of falling to them there). Plays the ball- his brother is a part of who he is today ( lost his father young). Round 3 (82): DI Neville Gallimore, Oklahoma- “Sideline to sideline- impressed with abolity to fly down the line” 3 tech (starting) - (MM) - most of defense is sub offense Round 4 (123): CB Reggie Robinson, Tulsa Round 4 (146): IOL Tyler Biadasz, Wisconsin Round 5 (179): Edge Bradlee Anae, Utah Round 7 (231): QB Ben DiNucci, James Madison Post draft Cowboys signed CB Daryl Worley, formerly of the Raiders. Press Stayed true to board Both day 2 guys- upside is big- top end competitions (Bama & OK) Physical, meaurables fit prototype, physical across board Good production Tough decision between Diggs & Gallimore (close on board)- did think  about depth in draft- Felt like they got value where they drafted the, Tried trading up in one of the ⅔ rounds - and no one would trade- got player they got. Nick Saban- Alabama- pro in an amatuer business. Helps NFL teams understand his players (pipeline quality)Defensive scheme background Deepest rounds in league consensus. Deepest amount of players with 2nd rd grades (gallimore was 2nd rd grade)Cowboys have a New head coach, Mike mccarthy who hired Mike Nolan  to be DC and he keeps on Kellen moore as Offensive coordinator. Some Key offseason moves Tagged Dak Prescott, Resigned cooper, Signed some D-linemen-gerald mccoy,  aldon smith- m and Dontari poe. Might get randy gregory back. Signed haha clinton. Have about Free cap-$13,160,333 left. They did lose Byron jones, Travis fredrick- retired, Robert quinn, Randall cobb, Cam flemung, Jeff Heath SS and Maloek collins.NEW ORLEANS SAINTS- Round 1 (24): IOL Cesar Ruiz, Michigan G/c flex (him & mccoy- Had ⅔ plays set on their board for that rd- Thought about trading up Sp- pne of beat iol he seen in a whole. Felt like iol was a need - Provess FB IQ & Interview. An A-learn player-Made all calls on oline. Consistency-Make up-strength-power. Mentioned interest in Aj terrell and kinlaw (Goongb into day2). Id players you hve a vision for Day1 -bord fell as expected  Mikey Loomis Tought, leader Round 3 (74): LB Zack Baun, Wisconsin (took an hour to get traded) High character/versatile. Unique- can be design passrush, 3rd down pressures (keep in mind saints like to blitz, man cov def.) Can play mike/sam Thought he’d go in first 20 picks of second rd (top50)Round 3 (105): TE Adam Trautman, Dayton (traded up)  (Per sp) good inline block, hips are loose in (3cone)-true y te. Combine, SB- rise to level of comp (important because small school) Has to gain weight but loves change of direction Round 7 (240): QB Tommy Stevens, Mississippi State. Traded multiple picks to get back into ddraft to draft himMAkes a point about team building- About targeting players- Its a veteran team A playoff team- Only so many players can make the team. REALY focused on Football IQ. Mikey Loomis- 3 players in top 40. Tried every team for Baun deal. (Good note) Usually teams that have multiple picks more willing to trade (so called them first). Willing to spend more to get him. Trautman trade happend late in thrid rd. Took less time- then reached out minnesota. “If we have a vision & affinity”. Thats their philosophey. But its relative to your roster. Have alot of young talented players, Difficult to make roster Qual v. quantity. 3 high quality players. Also- success in UDFA market- once they target some guys they recruit. PAir down board- Targets players & Didnt feel like QB was a must in this draft. Jameis Winston SigningResigned Brees to 2 year deal. Resigned Andreus Peat. DL David Onemata. Signed Malcolm Jenkins. Emmanuel Sanders. Noah Spence. Agreed to an extension with Janoris Jenknins. It’s a 2-year, $16.75M extension based on new money, source said. So, 3 years, $27M overall with $10.2M guaranteed — all in 2020. (Per Rapsheet). 2 5th year options coming up and they’ve already taken the option on Marshawn Lattimore and Ryan Ramczyck
