Petrovic spent the previous six seasons in the American Hockey League with the Providence Bruins, Stockton Heat and Texas Stars, but played his way into the Dallas Stars lineup each of the last two years during the Stanley Cup Playoffs. A 2nd round draft pick by the Florida Panthers in 2010, Petrovic talked about his early years in the Panthers system with the San Antonio Rampage, some hard lessons learned that forced him to mature and become a better pro.
