familiar faces worn out places worn out faces bright and early for the daily races welcome to Dan and Brent LeFere on Brent I'm Dan welcome back welcome back yeah I put you up to man it's a silly way to start the fucking episode but I mean what else are you gonna say what would you know to I was a good one it's not like we've been talking for 45 minutes for a third recording yeah ours or every other day in between yeah that too I mean pretty well man really disappointed with last week or last episode depending on when you listen to it yeah sorry about that everyone yeah definitely wasn't our best to brought it up if you skipped it good for you nice my fault pushing putting it out pushing pushing damage what we do wrestling okay under the bridge I'm gonna go we're doing WrestleMania 10 this week we're doing order polo now this week we're doing a mental institutes insane asylum insane sounds actually I have a real quick I have a list of some different things are called yes let's let's mention that is it weird to me or to you to call it an insane asylum like for for some reason it's it's difficult to say well it's just a tongue twister I think it's too many a little bit too many s's it is but I feel like it's almost like not PC which doesn't make any sense because I mean I think lunatic asylum would be a little worse than insane silence pretty good I like lunatic I like the word like I think they mean different things though I think I need to use it more often we call somebody who couldn't lunatic yeah that works for me see when I think of insane I think of lunatic I think of something like completely out of control whereas when I think of insane I think of more not necessarily out of control but just like not mentally there yeah I mean that dude is insane yeah like he's they're muddling to himself staring at a wall but insane to me can mean like completely not able to function on a normal level with the rest of us yeah but I mean like the at least with me like if someone murdered someone I don't consider them insane I think they're lunatic okay I think when it's physical I think more lunatic than putting hairs a little bit yeah for sure definitely they both mean crazy people I like your outfit today yeah yeah you got like a white fishing shirt yeah the fishing shirt with with your glasses and it looks like a dad you look like some white new bounces you look like you just found out that like algae can be used as fuel you're about to tell me all about it let me tell you about biokens right let me tell you biofuel did you know you can show them yeah what's a little classy thing up there at the top it's a little velcro thing velcro thing above your left breast pocket yeah it's I guess you could you could sit for glasses mm-hmm I don't know what it's for your bobbers but now you say glasses that makes perfect sense and I probably is what it's for extra lure up there yeah for your dip for your dip can you can't fit in there gross my boat my boat keys oh yeah boat float keys those things are awesome yeah they're useful I like the squishy ones what was I just gonna say my shirt you like my outfit it's only white button that I have yeah it's kind of like it makes you look smarter somehow makes look almost like a scientist yeah it does yeah like I'm ready like an archaeologist I'm gonna go out in the field and do some science stuff yeah like you're stopping into the lab to talk to the with the guys that actually wear lab coats yeah and they're all jealous of you because you're a new guy I'm the field guy you are the field guy that sure should say field and stream on somewhere your shirt makes you look smart to make you like you listen to podcast I do listen to my cats I'm wearing my boogie monster shirt which is real awkward wearout in public because it's got to naked man yeah I know I've done it a couple times I'm like mmm yeah it's the shirt I'm wearing hey hey you like a hairy weird looking dudes as anyone ever said oh hey look that that's so inset no yeah I mean either no it's unfortunate what were you saying with the names oh change subject I don't care I want to get one I like your mom's house or something bikes on my bikes bikes bikes no so names so what we got a silums loony bins loonie bin sanitariums funny farm sanitarium sanitariums weird like we're gonna clean you up no say like a saying sanitarium I know but it sounds like sanitary wipe I'm gonna sanitize your brain yeah sanitary napkin that's gross mental health or mental hospital lunatic asylum yeah psychiatric hospital that seems reasonable yeah yeah psychiatric I like psychiatric hospital more than mental institution what's interesting a psychiatrist and a psychologist yeah psychiatrist is a doctor and a psychologist is just something you're a therapist okay they would have both at a asylum wouldn't they in theory yeah I mean the people who are going to be prescribing drugs are gonna be the psychiatrist but do they do the same thing like they talk to the patients the same way yes okay so they're pretty much the same except one can write scripts correct but therapists will often charge as much or more and they do the same thing yeah they do the same thing and you don't I mean you can have a psychology degree and be a therapist you have to be a fucking doctor to be a psychiatrist yeah so if you're gonna spend the money to talk to somebody about your problems I'm kind of leaning towards the doctor do they ever team up like a dentist do like where it's like the dental hygienist is the one that like goes in your mouth most time the dentist walks in for a couple minutes pokes around and goes all right here's what we're gonna do with tag team so we can somebody can talk about wrestling tag team I am which I always thought was weird dude just kind of hanging on the edge like bro going out as far as they can it's ridiculous it's all staged obviously yeah it's like bro your your weapon your armpit all over the road I thought you didn't want to have a wrestling I don't just pop some of my head man but yeah did they do that now maybe not like if you go to see like a therapist no they don't know yeah I figured to be a doctor most of them are pretty conceited yeah no offense doctor friend that won't name you name yeah but that's I'm saying like the doctor would be the one who would come in after the therapist like talked with him like oh yeah tell me what the deal is and it's like okay I concur with your Satan oh what do you mean kind of like a dinner hyenas does for the dentist yeah like a like in a hospital or you've got the doctor then you've got that way you can have a bunch of bunch of non-doctors yeah a bunch of monkeys doing the hard labor maybe it's flunkies not the right word but you know I mean I mean you got a bunch of bitches doing your work for you know the difference between us when the graduate middle school with a D one that graduates in the day what's that no ever doctors oh damn it yeah they both doctors good one I mean it's true it's a second opinion folks yeah just saying you don't need straight A's to be a doctor straight D's works you know you did not anyways yeah I didn't think about there's so many different ways to say it what was the funny farm yeah that's always make me think of the chase movie not very funny no they're actually not funny at all you're that old song from I think it's like the 60s like they're coming to take me away mm-hmm I don't think so it's ridiculous yeah yeah so have you ever been to institutionalized well I mean are you visited one or have you ever been in one besides now I know occasionally we work and I guess what you would say are the closest thing to yeah I mean I've nothing I know what else that we have nowadays and we've done working them they're not the same though they're not mental like it's like more of a therapeutic well things have come a long way so like long where are they gone backwards well in some ways so like in a in a retirement facility mm-hmm I've worked in them where they have like a memory wing which like patients with dementia all-time rush yeah which I assume back in the day they would be the one they would be yeah they would be concerned saying like if they know where they were it doesn't remember you were yeah yeah well I guess we'll take it down here to be tortured for a while I'm not even torture just man would just leave me here I'm gonna walk around on here because that's one of the craziest thing about this topic is that by and large for I mean let's just call it 10,000 years I don't know how long do you think people have been here I'd say about that the you know record we I mean quote recorded history you know we're including some Hindus and shit we're whatever ridiculous timeline you want to assume it's been around yeah you just say people have been around well I think people have technically been around for like a million years but like as far as we know intelligent human beings writing around 10,000 there's evidence going back to like 7,000 years ago of people trying to treat people with mental illness oh yeah it's not like a new thing or anything no it's like they used to cut holes in people's heads yeah your brain needs more air it's suffocating in there I don't know if you call it trepination or trepination I think it's trepination trepination I didn't write anything about it you just feeling strong about trepination yeah no I've remember this I've looked this up for is the Mayans right that we're doing this a lot of people was it more than your friends Europeans a lot of people and this was you know trying to poke a hole in your head to get the demons out yeah just let let out some pressure let it's bacteria whatever if there's a method the most common I don't know how everybody would have come to the same understanding that for some reason like on the top of your head which wouldn't work at all by the way they would they would drill like a circular hole and I mean I wonder how they did it I mean do you think they just punched it I mean you and I work in plenty of environments where you got a drill a hole sometimes so do you make a bunch of tiny holes and then you pop it I bet punched I thought I'd be like pop like a fucking plate of I bet I like an arrow head and like and like starting a fire and just kind of back and forth back and forth and just slowly drilled it into the head and oh yeah I was like a step in like a drill mmm yeah I mean as things advanced I imagine I'm sure it was pretty uncomfortable you know maybe like a chisel like tap tap tap you know got like a tap to maybe a chisel because I had tattoos and they had the sharp instruments and what happens when it falls in oh I had to get how do they remove that piece I carefully I mean if they cared carefully yeah what about the skin and the hair I'm sure that got all in there and how much of that you think was just people fucking around like being monsters because well I mean as not they can't imagine that that would actually work is basically scientific experimenting without the ethics that we have nowadays that's all it was I imagine it started because people were important right because if you weren't important they wouldn't give a shit they wouldn't even try but it's got to be like the fucked up kid of not know some noble maybe they had much closer culture than we do now and everyone they felt everyone was important there group well not villages not in South America I don't know if you've heard much about those guys but there's lots of head rolling down the steps and shit man that's true I mean they're doing just able to know what you got there hey what do you think some of this guy said we should read let's see what's in his head everybody says there's just air I don't know I've cut off a lot of heads never really look inside never really gone on to the top part is it weird that I call the top part I have gone in through the eye hole a few times not I mean you know with my instruments well I mean so this one on for a long time they had to have worked to some degree right or why would they keep doing it what it did it would it at least lobotomize them I think some extent right I'm thinking I'm probably the guy lucky a few times in a fact there yeah I mean they probably weren't right but maybe maybe it was like hey this guy is crazy wants to kill everyone and he wants to eat children so let's drill into his brain and try to make him useful well with the trepination though there were a few times where it was useful because somebody would get jacked up in battle in like their fucking brain would swell and be like releasing pressure and like a minor hole where there was blood gathering that might actually work yeah and like oh we're draining the excess blood off their brain I'm still saying they're they were getting pretty fucking lucky because it's not like they had an x-ray machines well not even that like the amount of bacteria they must have introduced into the brain directly to the brain yeah right on top of it I mean do you think everyone like to poke in there a couple of times well you know my mouth is sanitary so just spin there use my finger yeah this episode's gonna get gross ah anyway so the reason I bring this up not only to kind of kick things off but it bothers me a little bit I mean just like with most things like fucking civil rights I mean so many things this I mean we didn't know shit about the brain until pretty recently yeah pretty recently and I mean we won't get into all all that yet but I mean we were still like performing lobotomies and stuff like not too long ago yeah so one of the biggest ones in the modern world to like kind of like set the standard for mental illness at least in Europe and you know attempted treatment of was the royal the London Royal Bethlehem Hospital I think mm-hmm and it was nicknamed bedlam bedlam never heard of that one yep I've heard a bedlam yeah I honestly just thought that was just a word until we started researching this I never heard of hospital yeah I thought bedlam was just like you know like I'm like I'm a like everything went fucking crazy like it's bedlam in there oh really yeah I think I've watched a couple of documentaries about built 1242 so I mean it goes back now as some you may or may not know the mental est use in America's don't exist anymore right as I guess they do have private ones but you're talking about like government sanctioned mental hospitals do not exist yeah I'm like what you would think of like in a movie like a big a big scary looking building full crazy people is that doesn't really exist anymore does does that still exist over in Europe is it just America that shut them no no I don't know I didn't know I was trying to do research but it's hard to it was actually kind of hard to find any information it is like about nowadays like the mental health status well and now I think just like with the you know the retirement homes and there's the the mental wing of a prison or psych ward of the hospital I mean it's kind of a lot of it's been branches of hospitals now sectioned off right and prisons have psych wards as well right which yeah criminally insane but I mean this all goes back to which I'm sure we're gonna talk about those guys that yeah you're seeing those in a jail yeah the ones that are like walking around with shackles on their hands and feet at all times yeah like because they will just add a control grab a screwdriver and try to stab you in the neck well what I mean we're gonna talk about this later I'm assuming but since they shut down all the middle hospitals basically homeless people are them insane yeah I mean we can talk about that now because I wasn't planning on getting into it all that much but well that and he's Ronald Reagan's greatest great idea was to save the government a bunch of money by shutting all the mental institutions and hey let's just kick everybody out to the fucking street so now that now prisons are a popular because yes mentally insane people correct get arrested for doing shit right and then also homeless people because they're not able to operate properly in a community right and you know they wouldn't have ended up there in the first place if their families were trying to take care of them or if anybody gave a shit in the first place a lot of people were just dropped off there because they were saying crazy shit so they're either I mean a full and that's that's the part that's really freaky to me is they just might be just not well adjusted you know they might have been fucking autistic and you know nothing really they weren't dangerous no they just someone can't unable to take care of themselves I mean we we crutus I mean of course criticized like Nazi Germany and shit but I mean everybody was was bad about I mean how many people with Down syndrome or how many people that just weren't quite there yeah we're just shoved into these places and fucking torture about and forgot about yeah until the 80s and they were all set free well so like we're saying the only state sanction ones are in hospitals now pretty much yeah I want you to guess there are yeah but but they're mostly hospital related yeah that's how many beds for psychiatric beds that are state-run are available in the US who I would say it's pretty low it's shockingly low I would say a couple thousand 37,000 37,000 across that's actually pretty good I mean percentage wise it's less than like 0.1% of people in America well yeah I mean it's a very tiny I mean there's what 300 million of us yeah yeah so yeah the institutionalism isn't yeah what's that the institutionalization nation Asian Asian well basically it started in the 60s Reagan was kind of like the final end of it okay so you're talking about starting the 60s where they were taking basically taking people from the large asylums to and basically spreading out to smaller community-based mental health facilities they're supposed to be supposed to be yes because the larger institutions were getting funds cut right wasn't enough oversight basically patients were mistreated and neglected but you know that happens even today and like old folk homes and oh for sure yeah it's gonna happen anywhere there's people supposed to be watching other people right well hospitals too yeah cuz people are shitty yeah I won't mention which one but there's a hospital here in town that I have already told my wife to never ever let me go to because you've seen how well remember Robert yeah yeah this guy we used to know oh you can you Robert yeah I remember for sure he was in a bad a motorcycle accident before he left and he was just left in his room like unclean unpaid I mean nobody paid any attention to him he ended up getting a fucking staff infection in his leg like it was nasty and like he said he could hear like as he's like yelling out for help I'm you know I'm infected I'm in pain I need help like he could hear the nurses like joking about how terrible their service was cool yeah one start with our no with tea yeah yeah anyway anyway so so you've never been to a mental health facility to award now have you not for treatment as far as you know right well when I was younger I got some trouble on how to do community service right have that humanity yep and we went to the Phoenix plantation to they were shut it had been shut down but they were we were removing furniture old furniture and stuff so they could resell it and that place okay here's thing when I work there that place you had used to be had used to be words are good words they slow down buddy tell me the story used to be a mental asylum okay after doing some research in this people there it was not a mental asylum it was a been a point Asian it was a mental hospital for drug and alcohol abuse I was the kind you go to vision hey I'm gonna go pay a bunch of money to stay at this place right by the water yeah yes so when I was there I was thinking mental asylum because it was so nice that you can tolerate not just like you have to pay to stay not not one of the places like you would pay to yeah but it was just creepy because it's an abandoned hospital and we're in there moving furniture and it was creepy I mean there's old files left there like you can read through people's shit paperwork and it was just creepy told me about that and there's this one section where they had like a window like a large walled window right we can see into the other room I guess to evaluate or keep an eye on people right and I didn't know someone was in on that side getting stuff so I'm like walking by carrying something and I look and I see someone moving out the corner my eyes I was on one in there I can scare the shit out of me I thought for sure it was ghosts it was like person but that's pretty much only experience but there's a lot of movies about like ghosts and sounds and stuff and that's what my head the whole time like yeah these places are haunted oh yeah I mean we play lots of video games and like the creepiest thing that you can use for a setting for anything really a movie video game whatever is a mental institution because I mean the fucked up thing is that the stories are pretty much true have you seen a movie shutter island yeah it has a great movie and like you know no spoilers but like the twist is like oh shit and then like you're like thinking about it like oh yeah that's that's a good movie about a mental hospital I still think one flew over is the best one oh man hopefully over the good news which is we can spoil that these are getting novel by kim kisie gets the lobotomy at the end it's just like oh that's what lobotomies do yeah like if you don't know they basically stick a needle in your brain and make you calm yeah we would have just jumped to the end huh what I mean in the end of the movie no of what we're talking about anyway I thought we moved on anyway what are you talking about nothing with plantation but I had gone to there and just it's just creepy like sounds are creepy is it because of the backstories of things I've had so many think of it so the the observation room is what you were thinking of that made me think of one of the most famous things about bedlam was and the most like fucked up things is that it was considered a human zoo like funny farm that's why that's why that's probably where the funny farm came from like wealthy people would pay actually that's how most of bedlam ran for like hundreds of years like pay to come look at the crazy people exactly this girl thinks is a spider and only eats flies right people will you know do some weird stuff like beat themselves against the wall or but you know it's it's crazy that now like someone like that like someone who like is just mentally ill wouldn't go to somewhere to get mental health it help they would go to a prison with a bunch of other crazy people free roaming well most people wouldn't go there on court and actually speaking of the but wouldn't you rather people like that get Baker acted into an asylum versus prison well yeah I yeah most most people get Baker acted into a mental institution yeah I'm just saying like now that there's less mental institutions it's more likely someone goes to prison versus oh yeah initially I think yeah I don't think that's much of an issue anymore you don't think so no I think well that's the problem though like unless you're I mean the rule is unless you're a danger to yourself or to other people they don't do anything yeah but I mean if you're a danger to other people they might not know it until you do something to someone else in which case now you're prison not that's a good point yeah which brings us to one of the primary solutions to mental issues throughout history and that's isolation mmm but that they just put you by yourself yeah right I forgot to write the guy's name down I think I know what you're talking about that but you can't stay in isolation without going crazy no I was gonna mention there was I think it was 1700s there was a guy in France who had an institution where he didn't tie anybody up he had people in separate rooms but they could like see and talk to each other if they wanted if and his whole thing was he talked to them yeah like it's so insane to me that they just didn't talk to people they know they go I know it's better for you didn't try to figure anything out yeah they just assumed oh I'm a dog I know what's up they didn't know shit I'm just ruining people's lives and cut that brain open yeah and it wasn't so you know hundreds of years later they're like oh yeah that French dude he probably knew he was talking about like he said earlier doctors have very big egos yeah exactly anyway some other weird ass shit going on in bedlam this one kind of cracks me up there's two statues over the front entrance of the place that are creepy as fuck one of them is called melancholy the other one raving madness like why would you do that to opposite into spectrum come on man like that all mental illnesses it's like basically we have the set scale if you're in between here and here you're fine if you're outside of either one which which part of what scale you're talking about you're what melancholy which would be like a call me down and calm okay and then lunatic or what was the second one then raving madness which is on the complete opposite end like yeah I can you know like a jellyfish it's just all it's all rain man it's like everything it's on a scale so I'm just a bit inside he norms you're good to go so it was long run by the Monroe family I wonder if they're related to the Monroe president and check into that anyway some common things for treatment of bedlam ice pads that was a big one yeah just hydrotherapy in general like dunking you in water warm hot and this is the one that kind of freak me out but after hearing about all the other crazy shit that went down there I'm like I could I could deal with that sometimes they would put you in a bath and then just leave you there yeah for like days just soaking up so so most of the time it was cold but sometimes it was warm and I'm like yeah it's always just come in and warm up my bath like every once in a while and leave me in there for two or three days all right that man but then where would you show yeah you're peeing shit in there it's a point it's kind of weird another one that was rotation therapy yeah just flip you and flip you and then flip not just that so like basically like if you ever I'm sure you're like one of the jar of things we hang on to every time I know you know what we're you it's not space can't and rotate on jeez oh let's go put them in the freaking with a bit of a wheel and just throw down a hill yeah no man they would like put them on a swing basically and spin around for like hours God I can't be healthy no it's not nothing nothing and that amount is healthy that's that's what's so crazy like all these treatments went on for thousands of years and really just in the last few hundred that they even tried to figure anything out they still in no shit but they would still put people in buildings and dunk them in ice baths and attach them to a rope and spin them around for 30 minutes what's crazy is ice baths are actually like a good thing no they're a good thing and so are heat baths like they activate certain I can't remember what it is I'm not sure but like saanas are really good for you so are ice bass in short times but not like but you're the sauna for 14 hours and so it happens like just general health yeah not mental that's true but that's kind of what they thought are like well maybe these people are just unhealthy that's kind of like Kellogg that's kind of where his whole sanitarium started yeah what was the thing with Kellogg so now you're talking about the guy with the cereal right Kellogg yes the cereal he actually started maybe do almost do an episode of on the weird like cereal wars like between Kellogg and post and I don't know maybe post how does sanitarium is about to but yeah he battle creeks sanitarium John Harvey Kellogg so tell me about it basically he um he was a doctor Dr. Kellogg Dr. Kellogg and he invented cornflakes was your real doctor I think so of what psychiatry I didn't write down in years but so sometime in the past he believed that a plain diet prevents sexual arousal and so he thought most of mental illness comes from sexual arousal so he did a lot of fucked up things like all right general mutate general mutilation yep my you're gonna say mutation sewing up the foreskin oh damn really wait we're going to circumcision of the clit oh no yeah lots of bad stuff but he also like was he a Muslim no no he was Christian all right he's like hey sex is bad he's a Catholic I'm assuming but so he he thought this because most most cases all were syphilis gone too far it causes mental illness right so he was like okay well obviously sex is the reason for people being crazy that comes in with women with hysteria yeah like all the stereo thing yeah so I didn't know this though but Kellogg was an inherent of teachings from Sylvester Graham you know that is who's Sylvester Graham the guy who invented graham crackers shut up I swear to God can't mix up what so he was like wait a minute yes Sylvester Graham Sylvester Sylvester so my tongue is really messing up right now I don't but no he was like yeah this guy's teachings are all right mr. Graham cracker himself I'm gonna make my own thing cornflakes what this is what I'm a female like that was his mentor yeah so he basically believed like grandmaster Graham if you ate like a normal like plain food it wouldn't make you less sexually charged so no meats no hot dogs like that's that's my cornflakes so much that's why cornflakes sucks so much and they were like oh sugar sugar makes everything better put sugar on them things frost flakes all right right yeah shredded wheat yeah if you want to be boring as shit you will not be a it's actually excited it's so crazy you hear something other weird inventions yeah please do he invented a vibration machine all right which basically you sent the chair and it just shakes you apart oh yeah those guys yeah the belt and it like that those conventions no way cornflakes arc light therapy was basically they shine a light on you but lights created from an arc oh yeah so that'll blind you well yeah if you look directly at it jeez and a hydro patty okay basically spraying you down with hose and yeah basically just like hydro massaging with hoses I don't know stuff that you think like none of that stuff actually does it helps with mental health at all no maybe a balanced diet if they're like yeah I'm nutritious yeah I can see the plain food like that they could help with a lot of things yeah but like non-mental issues yeah but they did make a movie about Dr.
Kellogg in his battle Creek Sanitarium oh yeah a road to well wellville wellville yeah yeah which I haven't seen that long time but I'm assuming I'm assuming it's actually not that inaccurate because it I remember being a pretty crazy ass maybe I think I saw it I remember Qsak anything Hawkins Matthew Broderick thank you so who were you talking about now oh I was thinking of Henry Cotton he was from the New Jersey State Hospital 1907 in 1930 he thought that infected parts of the body led to mental illness so originally not a bad idea started pulling out people's rotten teeth because again these are health problems it's rot it's in your head it affects the brain yeah I could see that yeah this led to pulling out stomachs parts of the stomach small intestine appendix is gallbladder thyroid parts of the corners as well as testicles no they just started he just kept going like he would just keep pulling out body parts like oh the crazies in there your fart stinks I'm cutting your colon out I think the crazies in your eyeball I'm gonna take you left one the crazy thing is you had no say in that no they could do whatever the hell they wanted I know this was a fuck up behind locked doors sure didn't tell no one dude so what what's the solution and you know what's the solution like what can we do nowadays well everything's different now how's it different well now you go to a psychiatrist if you're gonna for one but people people realize that somebody has mental issues a lot younger in life and so they that's true what do you mean if you can afford one I mean it's there's clinics everywhere yeah that's true I'm gonna stay around clinics you can get help thanks Dan I need it yeah you want to go right now no but what I think this is gonna sound a little crazy okay we've been saying crazy a lot yeah I think we need like free assisted living places kind like a silence but no lock doors oh you like the rest of the world who takes care of their elderly and mentally ill I don't know about that part well I'm just saying if like you have autism you kind of need somewhere to go like if you're extremely autistic sure I guess kind of like an elderly home like yeah somewhere to take care of like people who need help on a daily basis yeah who's gonna fund all this you socialist monster yeah the government socialist yeah take a 1% increase tax I don't care anyways also I believe that everyone who works everyone should get a paid week not vacation but to go to I would call it a mental retreat basically go to basically like asylum but not really in asylum like you go there it's free therapy more like a sanctuary than size yes like a mental sanctuary you thought a lot about this like you go there for a week and just deep pressure you just you're just saying in general like to keep people from going yeah to keep it from losing like a breakdowns and shit like post office workers who literally the term going postal came from right yeah why not just give people a week a week every six months is no one's gonna lose a billion dollars because of it yeah we do move to fast man yeah it's just sometimes you need to get away from everyone your family every talking about yourself yeah man a little bit you're a little overworked this week I did get overworked this week yes yeah it works like 56 hours by Thursday fuck who's who's all is that listen I know but it'd be nice to get away for a week I'm just saying mental health starts with you it does it starts with you I had care of yourself I had time to care myself I would and you do have time I don't because I don't have a week paid every six months ago live somewhere where they take care of me massage my body fix my mind no I'm just saying we just need somewhere oh man I wish you guys could see how like a grass of Prince face was just now like fix fix my body just my body fix my mind free health care and physical carry-in to because it's not just for the mental ill for everyone because we are all mentally ill well sure to some extent of course we all have bouts of depression and I mean if you want to take like that much of macro view about it yeah huh a macro view of you know society at large yeah we're all moving too fast we all have too many things to do yeah we all need a break yeah some people can't afford a break because they either don't have vacation or you know that they just don't their job doesn't allow for it or they don't have the money to do anything if they did go on they don't want to take care of the kids whether you know they were to disappear for a week yeah personally I don't have children and I don't understand how people with children operate on a day-to-day basis I have one and it's hard it's not man three or four kids I know people have like four kids it's like what'd you do I guess you just adjust but I don't understand how it's done yeah I mean we are an adaptive species that's for sure I agree with you though I mean you don't really feel like you have time to do anything but I don't know man unless I am physically and mentally prepared to work more than I'm supposed to work then I don't do it yeah I usually don't I mean this is the first time I've done this with this company since I've worked here yeah usually don't well it's not the first time but yeah but yeah usually it's a little bit I'm fine with going I'm fine with going I'm gonna have him I for him going home yeah at the same time though it's sometimes sometimes you have an extra yeah a little yeah everybody does you want to get the shit down for sure but no I just I think there needs to be somewhere like yeah mental sanctuary that people can go clock in I mean they have them you feel like it should be required I think it should be an option you don't have to take it but if you take it it's paid for hmm so like you could go to a rehab right which basically what I'm talking about like going to rehab like one of those fancy high dollar rehabs right but I don't have an issue I just I just need to go relax I just need you know any body massages and mimosas by the pool and then talk to a shrink yeah like it should be provided for everyone who works yeah if you work hey this you're feeding into the system yeah more so than a lot of people I mean children elderly disabled etcetera you know we're you know the working people of the country are taking care of everyone else yeah our tax money pays good point you know it's just we need to break sometimes I think the government should pay for a break so you're saying that people that go crazy versus you know people are just like chemically unstable yeah yeah I mean there's obviously a difference like I'm not I mean I might be going to table it no I understand kind of but stress can really stress yeah yeah exactly PTSD is a big deal yeah I mean technically that's a mental illness oh of course it is and it goes largely ignored I think now it has a lot more attention well yeah but like how I'm getting on bets do you know anyone talking about oh yeah you know shell shock shell shock sure and can you imagine that going on for days decades man I thought you know I'm not bomb exploding for days and days and days while you're trying to sleep I just mean like for those people who dealt with PTSD the rest of their life yeah like no treatment really yeah just hey man just like I relaxed dude you're back at home yeah what what do you so worried about don't you want to go to the human zoo man another crazy thing that went on there so there was little to no reform until like the 1800s and it was still pretty bad yeah at bedlam so from 1242 to like 1840 that's like 600 years man it's longer than our country's been around it's like 600 years of people being basically fucking tortured mistreated yeah the one of the weirdest ones that I heard when I forget who it was it was some society came in and really cleaned it up but they wrote about all the crazy shit they found and you know there's like people chained up like naked starving and one dude like was particularly vocal and his chains went like through the wall and into like they pull back and yeah so that the can to the wall when they come in there no well they would just like slam him into the wall to shut him up oh cool like hey quite down in there oh you're not gonna quite done all right well instead of coming in there and endangering ourselves we're just gonna yank your chains against the wall and smash you into it until you shut up you might die but whatever that's what's so crazy like if they were gonna pay so little attention to people I guess why didn't they kill him in the first place but that but that's murder right which is better a lifetime of torture or or just put me out of my misery right yeah but I mean you know a lot of people go with the Bible you know says do not murder but then also if you go to war it doesn't say do not murder unless you're at war so people kind of read it the way they want to read it and they go well technically I'm not killing them I'm just keeping restrained and I can't feed them because every time I give them food he throws at me so I'm just not gonna give food they think they're doing good everyone thinks they're doing good so you can do it except for the psychos do you think they should reopen should they would have to do it differently man I mean it have to be a lot more oversight I mean you're you can't have you know I've made a list of some troubles that a song would have even reopening today I mean unethical treatment which happens even in like we said earlier elderly homes sure that's almost kind of unavoidable unless you have a lot of oversight well anytime you pay somebody eight bucks an hour you're gonna get shot at work and especially if that work is to you know clean up after and you know bathe and what feed somebody that you don't want to you can't I mean the least offensive is neglect right I mean even if you're not a malicious person yeah like you're gonna be like oh well fuck that I don't want to do it'll be fine today he'll be fine and then they get ignored I mean this is a human being you can't you there's no way you could privatize it'd be like probably prisons are privatized and they ain't great no I mean it's initially how the mental institution started yeah well yeah exactly anyway that's what they have they would have to be state run right or I would I would say state run I would say like yeah state run not federally run right I mean you have to worry about experimenting I don't think you have to worry about that as much today probably not you know you have to worry about people getting in you know people who end up lifetime in the assignment same thing with prison you know there's people who they get out they go right back in they get out they're right again and then they're just in prison for life which that was one of the things that the reason for deinstitutionalism deinstitutionalation whatever it is was because they thought people were becoming too dependent so people who would be in there they wouldn't want to leave because it's they got used to the customs oh yeah yeah you know and so they wanted to stay there and they get stuck in the cycle of going out and coming back in I mean the separation from community I think is a big issue it had to be I mean because right you have to be in the community to adjust and otherwise you're outcasted you know what I'm saying no I don't like like let's take prisoners again if you're in oh you mean just yeah just socialized yeah you have to socialize like and not just with other fucking insane people like yeah yeah normalized I guess if you want to say that yeah I mean it sounds shitty to say normal but yeah yeah make sure that they can operate yeah I mean they're only around others there's the problem with this I'm like you're only around doctors and crazy people yeah like a reintroduction into study yeah like hey okay well on Tuesdays we go to the park or you know whatever but I guess it's only certain people with certain mental you can't take everyone to the park but I don't know man maybe you can't find up got fired up about this well okay psych wards like in hospitals today the average time they let you stay in a hospital in the psych ward is only six to seven days before they're mandated to release you really yeah so you can't get long-term help what do they do with your after that you're released by so I guess it would have to be specialized right yeah so they'd have to take you to a place that specializes in mental health yeah your family would have to take you there yeah hey check up with your you know that's how many people are just going on their own well that's like I'm fucked up I'm going to the crazy house exactly nobody does that no but some people do yeah but the people that need it aren't the ones that are gonna follow up with their doctor when they leave a hospital yeah like Sarah Connor what you know in terms of your terminator I know what I saw that's what she was to have you you've been to a psychiatrist or psychologist before yeah I go to psychiatrist do you I think I need to get on that dude it's pretty beneficial you should go it's weird about talking with strangers about your stuff though it's not weird I have a feel weird it is for like a second I know but I then once you I know I feel like when I say something it'd be like okay he's like right something down he's pressing a button under his desk kind of fucking weird yeah I've noticed that every time like yeah he like begins to scribble on what's what's going on there because it normally want to just throw a baby he's like I just notes man it's just so I remember what we talked about it's like don't worry about what I'm putting down yeah he's like if if there was an issue you probably wouldn't even know like I'd be contacting your wife and I'm like that's a good point it's like this is just so I remember he's like you're not my only patient I just said do you have any like not mental illness but you have any like symptoms what do you mean like I have intrusive thoughts you know that is I do know that is I have those a lot that's everybody that's everyone right yeah but that's I guess if you don't know it's just like let's say you're holding someone's baby in your head you just go smash that baby bro what would it be what would happen if I smash this baby right now it's like you would never smash baby or you know you go someone's like hey let me take it back everybody has I'm just using that I don't have those but like I know you're talking about but yeah you don't have those I mean occasionally like you know you're saying you're like I mean just what if I jump though you would never jump very once in a while yeah yeah it's obviously I'm not just not like every I wake up going what if no but you know sometimes you're like you're taking your mind you're like I mean you're sane enough to know that it's an insane thought right I guess some people don't have that barrier and they're just like do it I mean yeah if you think it's interfering with your life yeah maybe go see somebody's not interfering it's not like I'm constantly worried I'm gonna do something crazy but I mean it depends on how much you want to be fucked with like I've tried taking things like Xanax before is fourth thoughts like that it's anxiety right well right but it would probably work for the same because in my opinion Xanax turns off the background noise like when you're thinking about things behind the scenes of like what you're working on or thinking about right now you know just like stray thoughts and ideas like when you're trying to go bread bed your brains like running thousand miles a minute thing about everything kind of sort of you know like something about something back in the mind back in mind when you have a conversation things like that it like it says out quiet those down so it's alcohol and pill yeah kind of but it like I've tried taking it and it quieted things down so much I didn't like it yeah it just makes you numb yeah I didn't like it no some people really enjoy it because they think there's too much going on I mean I like everything that's going on my head yeah me too it's like people who hear voices like everyone hears their own conscious think like it's kind of like a voice well yeah but I guess some people just think like it's literally a voice oh yeah I think we talked about this during the imagination episode how you like hey like read in your own like in a voice inside yeah like if you've seen a movie yeah and you're reading something you read like Morgan Freeman's voice inside your head yeah that's like it how you do it no not necessarily but like if you you it's like if you're reading a voice it's to them yeah you assign voices and most of time it's like oh I could see this character being played by X person and then that person is one yeah there's yeah there's some of that like you know a wizard's gonna be fucking in a killing and that's the way it is yeah but like you've never like I know I'm never I'm not gonna speak for you but like I never like had someone go hey print hey go to there and get that like a disembodied voice in my head that wasn't my conscious me there yeah that's gonna fuck up but that's what happens to me yes it's a friend yeah yeah I can't even imagine how bad that is I mean I would think that nobody has a you know at night with a demon scum yeah and actually I heard comedian Matt Brounger said his dad put it to him that way and I thought it made a lot of sense he was like you know that voice that comes to you in the middle of the night you're like remember all the things you fucked up yeah you're not good enough and why do we even try and I mean you don't even deserve what you have you could lose it any moment he's like if there's such thing as a devil that's what it is yeah I was like oh damn I voice in your head you're like you remember when you embarrass yourself from that girl first grade like a total douche bang you're an idiot you're an idiot and you're like I mean reality's like I mean it doesn't matter it's first grade but like you're laying there going he's gonna write though like I mean there is a devil that's what it is yeah like sure it's ourselves getting down ourselves for what reason I don't know maybe it's maybe just improve yourself yes I was thinking like maybe it's just to be like next I'm not gonna make that mistake because I've been beating myself up over it yeah maybe that's just some piece of our subconscious that's going on while we're sleeping it starts to kick in when we lay down mmm like it's a like a self preservation mechanic that goes on in a brain and we start to pick up on it when we're going to sleep maybe all right man drives us forward you don't think so it has to be maybe it's going a little too far off it has to be it has to be I mean what else would it be it's not a real demon it's me it's me talking to me yeah I mean that's all sometimes yeah and and that's when your body tells you that you are your mind you're subconscious hey remember that you're being an asshole don't be an asshole it really is yeah remember how you felt like a complete idiot I'm gonna remind you this every night for the rest of your life so you never do that again before the more modern ideas of treatments came along there's some other crazy I should that went down yeah that I wanted bring up because you know what other episode we're gonna plug these into there's obviously a bloodletting yeah really or that one leeches you got too much straight razor that's the craziest thing fucking barbers were considered doctors because they had razors and could cut you and let the blood out without killing you yeah isn't that fucked 1927 here's a fucked up one insulin therapy yeah so that they throw you into into a diabetic shock basically yeah they put you in a fucking insulin coma for like four hours like you're basically dead or you're dying yeah and then like here's a little sugar all right you feel better no better yeah I feel better than I did three hours ago when I started going this coma so fucked up and I personally I think a lot of these therapies were just to deal with the people like it wasn't helping them it was helping the people working on them yes like oh I don't have to deal with this guy up for a while we'll jam a full insulin so fucking passes out okay see you later like fuck I'm so glad that they didn't have like Oxycontin earlier can you imagine like I just do some is heroin lacks you know it's funny though is that speaking of drugs MDMA was real popular until like 85 and I don't know if it was just because everybody felt too good yes all this this is working too well this is uh we need to sell this on the black market I'm just saying yeah it's it's just weird like drugs like marijuana and MDMA like dude micro dosing there's no what is it called maps yeah it's uh it's helping people with PTSD yeah they basically they're micro dosing like mushrooms and LSD yeah in which if you don't micro dosing is it means like so let's say 100 milligrams would is what you would normally take for a drug right you would take five milligrams yeah like like a tiny little amount that you wouldn't feel yeah so it wouldn't affect your yes you wouldn't even feel it but it subconsciously not subconsciously but it does affect you just in a slight it's like a tropic so it messes with your your thought patterns but people with PTSD have had great success from just tiny amounts of psilocybin or tiny amounts of LSD but our country's so uptight we were like yeah screw those guys and all these veterans in their crazy thoughts well you hear as a kid you hear all these things like dude I'll only take seven hits acid and you're never insane right no one's gone insane from acid I don't think ever yeah I should be legally insane a couple times over but like it I don't know they always blow these drugs up like marijuana like it's a gateway drug to crack cocaine like no man no not I know plenty of people who have used marijuana without using crack cocaine people I mean this I know people who are super conservative and I mean in my neighborhood and the shit's not even legal here but in my neighborhood don't want to be on pain pills pain pills and they're like man I started taking edibles or I started you know smoking weed you know after 30 years of doing it not not doing it you know since I was like in college or whatever and it's the only thing that'll help it's like a miracle drug it's an anti-inflammatory there's a zillion uses for it but we're like I don't know yeah because how can we make money off it oh shit they can grow themselves mmm it is not funny like I mean that's what it is legal in these still not a lot of growth yourself yeah that's fuck man they have to make money on it and that's the only reason it's illegal right yeah I mean it has to be it is they can't control it yeah so if they catch you growing it in your backyard you're fucked but then things like I guess Indian a and LSD like I've never done any of those but like I'm I'm assuming you can't really make that on your own very easily and not not really easily about some sort of a lab but yeah so why don't they make those I mean even if you had to go and only use it at a place like like I was thinking the mental getaways you go there and they give you a little LSD and talk to you about your troubles and sometimes sometimes that shit doesn't work out though yeah I guess that's true sometimes sometimes you take the dark road sometimes insulin yeah not so good also even more fucked up this shit called Metro's all of your to that that sounds familiar but I can't put my finger on why they only stopped using it in like 1982 I mean it dropped off considerably but before lobotomies lobotomies were around like 1950 but before Thor's scene these the shick all the metros all that would induce seizures oh cool it would make you have seizures for like an hour to that's always good yeah people are getting injured like just from the spasms yeah like they were breaking bones and shit yeah what the fuck man and then yeah mr. Walter Freeman came along this crazy fuck with the lobotomies I didn't know that it wasn't even his idea with the ice pick thing oh really like he heard about somebody in Europe using the ice pick and they was like oh shit I've got one of those in my ice box straight to the optical caddy no joke this motherfucker roamed the country in what he called the lobotomiele holy shit right and 25 bucks pop I'll scramble up your head so for those of you don't know the bottom is when you take a long ass needle stick it up this is called an orbital lobotomy is before they'd have to do surgeries but those took too long or but or but it'll lobotomies when they go through the ice socket like in the corner of your eye with a long ass piece of metal like corner eye closer nose jam it up to the front of your head and literally like stir it like you're stirring a fucking coffee and sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't this dude would travel the country like as a show and be like hey give me a crazy people do as many as I can while I'm here but I gotta go 25 bucks piece alright guys and he would fuck him up all the time there's a famous story about him like posing for a picture mid lobotomy and he was like oh hang on click and you like push too far with the thing and the dude died like right after the fucking picture Jesus fucking crazy until like 1955 when Thor's in was developed and which is called like lobotomy and pill and it's basically an anti-psychotic you know I knew people I knew what you can college that took the worst scene and I'm like what the fuck are you doing walking around crazy like it just keeps me normal like holy shit it's basically a tranquilizer well I mean they're definitely great advances in drugs roughly 20,000 lobotomies between the 40s and 50s dude this motherfucker himself lobotomized I think it was like it was something crazy it was like 12,000 of those 20,000 were him he would also travel around and teach other people how to do it dude there's reports of him lobotomizing as young as four years old Jesus and people don't think monsters are real fucking a I got a question oh yeah I'll bring it up a little bit but lithium yeah lithium that's a anti-psychotic right or anti it's a mental illness you don't remember which one it is it's an antidepressant is it okay I've tried being a antidepressants for I don't think I need them I think I'm think yeah I was younger there's no way you need them well butrin I used to be well butrin's a pretty light one yeah I was lightly depressed hey I tried it like month I was like nah I'm good yeah they tried to give me that for quitting smoking and I honestly just kept forgetting to take it yeah like and when I did take it I was I was just nicer to people like I didn't make me want to because they're like I just you know go about your day and what's what's been happening and it's like a medical breakthrough like depression is associated with cigarettes and when people get in a better mood they just don't feel like smoking anymore and I was just like hey I feel great I'm in a better mood but I don't want to quit smoking but I want to cigarette yeah anybody else want one I'm a great mood here I'm gonna share mine with you cuz I'm just a good mood she didn't worry at all yeah that's actually what they yeah but that's what they prescribe before what's the other one Chantex Chantex that's one of the stories like the crazy ass dreams like yeah and not just crazy ass like the people who told me about it are like you're fucking there like their nightmares but they're like lucid nightmares that's what I have sometimes remember I told you about that before like oh yeah so that's why I was like I'll never take that because those are the worst it's like oh I'm I know I'm dreaming but I can't wake up and I'm about to get murdered what was gonna happen in real life when I die my dream happened dude not so much I mean you just having a lot more so is that why you're afraid to go to psychiatrist because they're you're further until you're insane yeah a little bit I think everyone's a little afraid of that though man you totally look like you've got a monkey at home bubbles yeah or some exotic animal I look like you're getting ready to go on safari or just got back the fucking shirt is awesome you need one of those hats with like the curved side on it you know I haven't even better one I'll wear next time I'll please do that so you got anything else man yeah I do alright and that's thanks to Dan and Michigan operation latte operation latte he told me to check out another podcast lore which is pretty phenomenal yeah I've been listening that for a while if anybody wants to listen to like a real podcast check out lore prime TV show when they agree yeah the TV shows weird the same guy but it doesn't sound way different yeah the guy on the show his voice is weirdest shit yeah he sounds like a robot I don't know what I listen to the very first Lord I don't know what you could be referring to I listen to the very first speaks all the time haha if you the very first lore TV show has the regular dude I don't know maybe changed but yeah hit but I know because she when I'm when you first played I was like yeah let's not I guess and you played I was like I don't think that's the same guy I'm not sure yeah he he went to the store the bacon was for sale yeah that's what's weird like this episode is called echoes and they talk about Danvers state penitentiary in Massachusetts mmm listen to this shit that was a picture I showed you when you got here okay the real Gothic looking wise well these are all all the mental institutions were built in the Victorian era so they all look like Gothic and crazy and tall spires and well no I mean the United States yeah I wasn't Victorian I wasn't I don't think so eighteen early 1800s yeah maybe you could be right the first mental institution United States was in Virginia 1973 anyway I wanted to bring up Danvers because lots of crazy shit went down there so initially it was designed for 500 patients and this still sounds dumb to me to be attended to by 12 people holy shit yeah of course it didn't end up that way they did staff up to like 19 for a while wow really place numbers opened I believe in the 30s 20 years the 30s it was supposed to be like the place you know mental health was a big issue obviously like this this was like location to go to the place to go the design was so that there would be lots of sunlight lots of room everything was gonna be cool and initially apparently it was really it was really great but it was overcrowded almost immediately yeah he went from a space designed for 500 and then it housed 2300 within within 10 years it was overcrowded and again the staffing only increased to like 20 people and that was a privatized yes people would fucking die and they wouldn't know they wouldn't even know because there's so much going on yeah they couldn't keep track of everybody people are dying and starving it was so horrific and this is where a lot of these treatments were heavily utilized you know isolation I spads electroshock therapy was introduced in in this place apparently it was so terrifying for so long that HP Lovecraft wrote the first horror story about this place guess what he called it what Arkham that's Arkham comes from yeah that's what Arkham Hospital Arkham Hospital for the HP Lovecraft story became Arkham Asylum which is home for the Caribbean saying in Batman the DC universe yeah is that did they come up that Arkham from the aircraft I did not know absolutely yeah they just straight ripped it off okay I didn't know that so this is crazy too so the place that it was built on Indian barrel ground pretty close holy shit guy whose property or the place that it was built was called Hawthorne Hill originally that's how familiar yeah you'll know why so one of the nine magistrates that were in charge of the fucking Salem witch trials oh my god the worst one the one that wanted to fucking kill them all his name was Hawthorne he sold the property to these people they built that shit on that property holy fuck I mean could you curse it a little bit more you know right there's some dead animals in there where you're at it dude and this place wasn't shut where was this at Massachusetts this place wasn't shut down until the 80s get this there was one of the last doctors that like came as a resident there coincided with teenage members of the not members residents patients yeah brain damn teenage patient patients between like ages 13 and 19 hundreds of them were disappearing with that trace and they all went back to this dude so basically this dude was like taking them out in the woods they kept like finding like slits of paper where people were like man woods nighttime like crazy ramblings but it was like over and over in these rooms where the kids were missing the authorities finally caught on went to find him that hospital didn't tell anybody because they knew they were probably on their way anyway so they're like fuck well we're not gonna bring this shit up this is gonna happen even faster when the authorities found out they had to come in with like helicopters and shit like they had to shut this thing down with like a SWAT team and they tried to go find this dude it's like a manhunt chase them out into the woods and find this fucking cabin not a trace of the dude or any of the fucking patients still to this day they don't know what happened to hundreds of people that were checked in and then disappeared or the doctor they have no idea where he ended up holy fuck it was eventually demolished the facade is still there though yeah so it didn't tear down the face of the building and I'm like just tear it down do you ever listen or should be a podcast oh skip to take it once in a while he had someone I can't remember the name of it now he's comedian but he grew up in like basically like a orphanage type deal yeah and basically bunch kids lived in a big compound sure and apparently there was when he was there there was one of the dudes was there was basically taking kids and killing them what woods and like kids were disappearing this was somebody that was on our show yeah basically the same thing that you just said like fuck you know kids are disappearing like they didn't want to report it because they just basically say oh they ran away right so they would be run away but then they wouldn't be found and stuff and I don't know if I know the guy like killed like 15 something kids what man that's sketch me out but we could do an episode on missing kids yeah like yeah sucks when you have one I can't imagine yeah I don't want to travel to 400 right now my kid no dude you know I'm not I'm not the dude from taking I do not have the skills no skills yeah I could see getting you know I mean I would try maybe a little rough with a crocodile from time to time I'm sorry I can't go to the shirt oh so what do you think I think in a these questions we had were bullshit and it's a little box that we've been reading oh nice transition he's talking about the segment that we were trying to start that yeah we got it I mean literally I think you should throw them away right now which favorites would you use on the ultimate cheese board no yeah questions like that no no so we decided we'd come up with something new the wheel of fate we're love fate so you're standing in front of a giant wheel it has options yeah when you spin it one of these gonna land on which one would you really land on bust the deal spin the wheel all right since we're talking about mental health yeah got a couple to go along with it this one it just came up with in the mine which got wheels split 50 50 one side you get lobotomized the other side lecture shot therapy one of them with lobotomy you're out of it you're done you don't remember any of it like shot therapy it's multiple I'm taking a little shot you're continuously getting it I'm taking the electric shot I don't care that's what you're hoping to lands on yeah lobotomy are you fucking crazy it's basically being tortured or not I'm election out there you're gonna be tortured yeah but you can take my brain yeah but you won't know we took it that's the strange thing about brain things right I'm taking I'm taking the torture dude okay okay okay I think I might do lobotomy for real you just be like you just wouldn't be that much different than now you would just be you just it wouldn't matter anymore yeah I guess it'd be quick what it though see here's imagine terrible you don't know what if people who are lobotomized like are fully mentally sound but can't express any of it we don't know oh yeah I forgot to mention Captain dickhead Walter Freeman Captain dickhead did all of this without an stick of course not mother fuck you fuck you mother fuck you dude I don't know what part of hell you're in right now but I hope it's a nasty one that kind of shit makes me hope there is a hell for people like that speaking of hell I did go to the dentist for the first time ten years the other day why did that go and it was prepainful yeah just because they had to do a really deep clean oh no I only have two cavities seriously yeah I've lost and brush and all that but I didn't know this really cool they know I have to drill your teeth to fill cavities they now have a laser that can do it you might need to tell her that because she's got a cavity right now so they don't have to numb you you don't have to take shots of the gun the fuck is this laser teeth right it's a brand new thing where so basically I filled with resin we'll talk out you got to show me this shoot with laser and cure the resin boom have you filled fuck up no drilling required no numbing required they said it's a little uncomfortable it feels like either extreme cold feels like a laser feels like a lead alright next question big wheel standing in front of you hmm the wheel of fate you spin it musty I think one side of the wheel smells weird you become completely insane and know that you're insane okay I know I'm crazy yeah okay but you're crazy there's nothing you do you know you're crazy or you're completely insane and you believe that you're and you believe that you're sane fuck that's a good one right completely crazy and I know I'm crazy or completely crazy and you think you're you think you're normal operating human I think I'm taking option a thing I am to I think well man that's a tough one right because because then you're gonna have like the remorse I've had like the crazy stuff and because I mean I've had like panic attacks and shit and I mean you know that you're having a panic attack but doesn't change it and you're still having like I know I'm having but you're still having it yeah man that's a tough one versus being crazy and you think that you're saying like oh no it's getting pale though does that mean that like people are gonna try and put you into shit well that'd be like having schizophrenia is a skitsar counter issue where people think I'm crazy because I keep talking about killer robots no it's more like I guess someone with schizophrenia who like no that's what the voice said like no it's normal what I don't know if you're crazy but you think it's normal like yeah no everyone hears voices in our head oh like you're insane but you think like yeah that's normal what are you gonna be putting a special place for that maybe maybe not where'd you put it there's no silence anymore I feel like if you zeroed in on that question enough that those are almost the same thing right I mean either way you're insane right would you rather know it or not but if you don't know you wouldn't still know it well could be like someone who's autistic and they know they're autistic right versus someone who's just autistic mmm like cuz some people are like aware of their mental handicaps man and I've met those people and it's like oh you got a shit fucking deck of cards didn't you it's a sense it is I've met those people yeah and they're they're really upset about it yeah they're a burden on society and their families and it's really fucking heartbreaking people who fallen hit their head now they're mentally challenged but not enough to wear I don't know about it yeah you still want to know about it right of course you would because you feel like if you knew about you'd be able to do something or at least I could explain it yeah sorry guys I'm crazy yeah that's true you might want to hide you cat I'm gonna try and eat it later just the pause though I'm just a saw was really killer a kitten or puppy oh fuck you man mmm doesn't matter how I kill it you have to look at its eyes with fire oh fuck no damn no it doesn't matter I guess what's the difference you still killing it up your cat totally do a show on psychos oh man that's not fair yeah I know you can't like saying do you would really kill a baby with a shovel or a puppy with a shovel I mean a puppy with a shovel what are you talking about why would you kill a baby I wouldn't kill either one yeah but you would definitely kill a puppy before you kill a baby of course yeah if I was given the choice well you got a kid half to you got a kitten a puppy okay you got a kid a puppy they're both falling off a bridge you can only grab one you're not technically killing one you're letting one die you're really kidding yeah you're cat guy damn can't get it yeah I was all guy but I think I still got the kitten doesn't mean that I love the puppy last yeah sorry buddy what one of you's right is that the noise that he's making on the way down oh anyway you know what you want to talk about next time or just surprise them like we usually do yeah I mean usually if we pick a topic it doesn't it doesn't work in that anyway like wrestling let's talk about some topic I would mind doing one on psycho paths okay we could take we could both take the psychopath test let's see what we come out oh it's like yeah I gave my that to my wife one time yeah that work out she failed she's a psychopath oh yeah oh that's cool yeah I got the one about the funeral I don't like you give that one to women that I'm never gonna test the one about the funeral you know no no we can do that I would mind you something like that live or answering the um personality test you know what personality are the ML AP or something is that gonna long though it might be but we just go through a few questions I don't have to do it to completion are we doing completion beforehand before and bring in and discuss some of our answers and like why the hell would you pick that you crazy psycho yeah find out if people think we're insane yeah just what type of personality are we type a how much how much mental health how many people with mental health issues are just rolling around and diagnosed oh a lot or even diagnosed and still just rolling around it's not taking their medication those made me think like isn't everybody how this let's say you get diagnosed with schizophrenia yeah or something even worse like some sort of like social psychotic is I don't know if that's a thing and then you become homeless okay are you gonna be taking your pills no no you're not you're gonna go to the free claim to pick your pills up no bro you're not you're homeless no not unless I'm just taking care of me yeah exactly yeah yeah thanks for leaving me with that dark thought let's kind of like the end of um Legion yeah I haven't seen India okay I'll tell you about it speaking of yeah that ties in you haven't watched if you haven't seen Legion you should probably watch it it's really gonna be say it's a marvel it's not a movie it's a show or show that's not a man I like I love how stylish it is yeah it is very it's hard to pinpoint what decade that shows in it's hard to pinpoint a lot of things in that show like you're watching like are they in like because in the first season they're in a silent right like is that in the 60s it looks like maybe like they have all these throwback haircuts and clothes and then but then he's in an apartment it's like no that's the newer apartment well I mean anytime you have and that's what is that what mental is that kind of like what's on with mental issues would be like like they don't really not good at putting things together right that's often dealt with anytime people use people with mental issues in a story just you deal with unreliable narrator I mean that's what you're dealing with in like fight club yeah it's like and that's what really fun with you and that's that's the whole point I guess is that that's what they're going through is that they're constantly fucked with yeah it's almost like if you're looking at something so close you don't it looks like nothing ties together but then at the end when they pull back and they show you the big picture everything you're like oh that's how all that time like that's insane why would that tie together that way I'm always think if you will yes very much so I think that's what a brain of a mentally insane first half-stairie of mosaic okay until this gets me dumber yeah I'm Dan I'm Brent we'll see you next time later tears are filling up their glasses no expression no expression at my head I want to drown my sorrow no tomorrow no tomorrow and I find it kind of funny find it kind of sad the dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had I find it hard to tell you I find it hard to take when people run in circles it's a very very well the day they've got people jazz should sit and listen I was very nurtured tell me what's my lesson look right through look right through me that kind of funny I find it kind of sad in which I'm dying are the part to tell you I find it hard to take run in circles it's a very very
