Dan Gordon on Amalgamation, Pegasus fast track, and airport housing

from Canterbury Mornings with John MacDonald · host Newstalk ZB

Waimakariri Mayor Dan Gordon says his council has shown leadership by asking the community for their preferred amalgamation option before their unanimous decision to amalgamate with Hurunui District Council. Speaking to Canterbury Mornings, Gordon says he is grateful that Christchurch City Council voted to remain in their current boundaries, and deciding against taking over urban areas of both Waimakariri and Selwyn.  "I've made it very clear from early on that that wasn't a viable option or something that we wanted to see happen." The mayor also discussed the Pegasus Golf Course fast track application, and his view on building restrictions being mooted by Christchurch City Council and Christchurch International Airport.  LISTEN ABOVESee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
