Dan Mitchinson: US correspondent on the US oil reserves nearing a 40-year low

Over in the US, oil reserves fell by 9.1 million barrels last week as the conflict in the Middle East continues. As of May 22, the US Strategic Petroleum Reserve held 365 million barrels, down from 413 million at the beginning of 2026.
