Dancing Diné Lakota Warrioress

from Real Native Roots: Untold Stories Podcast · host Vickie K. Oldman

Real Native Roots: Untold Stories presents MaryAnn Bullhead, a fierce, grounded, and nurturing Diné Lakota woman. Raised on the Navajo reservation by her mother and influenced by her Lakota ways while visiting with her father (Earl Bullhead), on the Lakota Reservation. MaryAnn finds herself dancing onto the path of serving our country. She served in the U.S. Navy, the N.M. Army National Guard, was deployed to Iraq twice, and recently retired from the Sandoval Country Sheriffs' Department. Grounded in her indigenous matriarchal values, MaryAnn shares personal stories of what keeps her balance and has faith that we will continue to have hard conversations toward healing.  Join us and hear her story, what she longs for, and why they call her Sparky.   Please follow and share our podcast with your ecosystem.
