Daniel #1 - Daniel 1

Exile placed Daniel and his friends inside a rich, persuasive culture that opposed the living God. Yet Babylon's victory did not place events beyond God's control; the Lord had delivered Jerusalem after His people's rebellion. Daniel refused the king's food, which could defile him, and humbly requested vegetables and water instead. God gave the official sympathy, kept the four men healthy, and equipped them with knowledge for His purpose.
