Daniel 1 - September 22, 2019The book of Daniel commences with one of its central themes: the kingdoms of this world are passing away! Judah, having forsaken the LORD, has been handed off to Babylon. This shift marked a new era where God’s people would be ruled by Gentile powers. Daniel and his companions, now exiles in service to a godless regime, faced the question of how they would maintain fidelity to God when everything around them was pressuring them to be otherwise. How do you, as exiles on earth, maintain the balance of living in the world but not being of it?
